We can officially announce now that our entire soundtrack will be music created by the composer Jon Hopkins! Hopkins is an award winning musician and creator of the ‘Monsters’ soundtrack, as well as being internationally renowned for his production and collaborative work with artists like Brian Eno, Coldplay, and Imogen Heap.

Vessel will have 10 tracks of Jon’s music, which we are dynamically remixing as you play the game using a custom music engine. As you play through the puzzles the music will change as you get through each step. Here's a behind the scenes/technical look at how the dynamic music works:

We’ve actually had Jon’s music in the game under a temporary license for the entire length of development, which Jon and his production company were kind enough to offer. This good fortune has allowed us to grow the game around the music – the tone, feel, gameplay, and visuals have all been dramatically influence by the music, so it’s all one cohesive package. Now everything is sorted and we are go for launch!

Vessel will be launching on Steam and StrangeLoopGames.com this Thursday, March 1st.

Thank you sir, yes his music fit what we wanted to achieve with the mood really well, and we got it early enough to shape the game around it.

Really interesting from a technical standpoint. We are doing this on a much smaller scale in our game the 9th Wizard. Thank you for sharing the guts of your methods. We have been following Vessel for a long time!

Thanks, yes music has such an immediate power over emotion, perfect for setting the tone you want in a game if you can do it dynamically.

Oh wow. I love Jon Hopkins' "Insides" album. Did you base the name of your game on his track called Vessel? Or is that just a weird coincidence?

I feel so jealous. You get to play around with his songs in FL Studio!

I'll definitely pick this game up on Steam when I get the chance. It looks awesome.

Thanks Nubbles! Glad you noticed that, it was actually a weird coincidence. About three years ago I named the game Vessel, then heard his tracks including 'Vessel' and decided it was perfect for the game.
