Valthirian Arc: Red Covenant is now on Kickstarter news

Valthirian Arc: Red Covenant is an action-packed magical school simulator with a classic JRPG twist. You play the principal of an academy, tasked with training your students to save the world, all while finding missing cats, delivering love letters, and helping elderly ladies to cross the road... oh and fighting monsters.

Valthirian Arc: Red Covenant is a direct sequel to Valthirian Arc I and Valthirian Arc II which were launched in 2010 and 2013 through various flash gaming portals.

Valthirian Arc: Red Covenant combines two different style of gameplay. The first one is the school simulation, where you have to build and manage your school and its students. You also have to recruit, train, and promote your students to face future challenges!

You will then send your students on various quests and that is when the second style of gameplay takes place. Your students will battle against enemies in a real-time combat system.

You begin the game as a school principal of an almost empty castle, filled with nothing but your hopes and dreams. As you progress, you'll build and upgrade your classrooms, facilities, and academics which will attract more students to strengthen your academy.

Each classroom has a unique purpose. For example, you can outfit your students with better equipment when you build and upgrade the Armory, or you can bolster your knight by building a Knight Training Ground.

Valthirian Arc uses a classic real-time combat system mixed with JRPG elements. You can see the enemies at the battlefield and engage them as you see fit. You control a group of 4 students in a dungeon or an outdoor battlefield.

Each student has their own stats and roles which affects their strategy, performance, and survivability during battle. Unlike Valthirian Arc II, you can now control each studentindividually, so you don't have to worry that your healer will blindly charge the enemies. You can even use your tank to draw enemies in. The correct positioning combined with the right arrangement of skills or spell combos will make fighting formidable enemies a walk in the park.

Your students will embark on various of quests inside and outside of the academy. No quest is too big or small, your students will be tasked with anything from bringing down ferocious monsters to delivering love letters.

As your students grow stronger, you, as the principal, will determine their talent and decide their job. You can promote your students into various available jobs, such as magi, knight, paladin, and others.

Valthirian Arc: Red Covenant will introduce several new job classes to the series. At least two of them have been confirmed: called Arc Draconus and Harlequin. Both are unique job classes because their abilities will deviate from the other traditional job classes. Both are housing a lot of powerful set of skills that can add a whole new strategy during the quest mission.

Introducing a new loot and craft system for the first time at Valthirian Arc series. We've created a crafting and loot system that will earn your students powerful weapons and armor for going on quests and defeating monsters. This not only makes your characters more powerful, but adds a whole new element to the Valthririan Arc Gameplay

Valthiria is a country based upon the alliance of five queendoms. Years ago, the only heir to its central government went missing. Now, the five queendoms have begun to fight for the rights to inherit the land. Meanwhile, nobody knows that a mysterious northern nation is slowly invading Valthiria between its civil unrest, nobody, except you and your academy.

The political power of your academy is neutral by oath, but a power nonetheless. Use this power to decide the future of Valthiria. Will you try to unite the queendoms against foreign invasion? Or will you take a third option?

Unlike the previous games, Valthirian Arc: Red Covenant will let you explore and understand more about the world of Valthirian Arc. So either you are a new or veteran player, you can get a fresh take to the series. The game will feature the followings:

• Rich cultures: Immerse yourself in a fantasy setting inspired by various real-world cultures

• Bigger world: Even bigger than Valthirian Arc II! Explore all the lands in five queendoms of Valthiria. Go beyond the mountains. Sail off to exotic, distant islands.

• Lore-based storytelling: Discover the history and customs of Valthiria through items and bestiaries.

• Multiple endings: A branched story line with multiple endings. Forge your own Red Covenant!

Valthirian Arc: Red Covenant will house a full new updated graphics system to move the the Valhtirian Arc universe from the full-2D system on the two previous games, into a 3D world. The use of 3D elements allows us to create a new dynamic environment which will create a much more immersive experience for our fans.

But "now in 3D" sounds a bit cliché, so our artists have mixed the 3D environment with sprite-based characters. We’re keeping the same pixelated sprite-based characters so we can maintain our classic JRPG feel that our fans love. This updates the graphic experience but is still reminiscent of a better, more pure age when generals dressed as opera stars and annoying purple octopus tried to smash beautiful mage knights with four-ton anvils... We hate that octopus.

Valthirian Arc features our in-house music department, Agate Simfonia. The critically acclaimed composing team known for sound work in Valthirian Arc 2, Celestian Tales: Old North, and many other great games.
