Unending Galaxy Beta 4.1 Released
It looks like the Beta 4 was shipped with a fairly annoying bug that was heavily reducing power plants' production, causing an economic slowdown and way too many “get me some energy cells” missions to spawn. The 4.1 beta, which fixes this issue, has just been released. It also includes a few additional features to make up for the inconvenience.
Price for factory supplies has been made dynamic. It means that selling from factories to trade stations isn't the only way to make money by trading anymore, you can find deals selling from factories to other factories directly. It should make free trading ships a bit more profitable as well.
Dock traders are better at deciding which resource is the most needed. As a result, factories should suffer less downtime when resources are available.
Finally, I reassigned thread priorities, the game should feel less laggy when a lot of things are happening in the galaxy / background.
Factories, and power plants especially (it was especially problematic for those fast producing factories) no longer stop producing when they have 5 cycles worth of product in their hold. Instead they'll stop producing when their cargo space is half full (so there's still room for resources).
I also fixed the mission generator tied to factories. It was weighted in favor of generating supply missions with whatever is the first resource in the factories' data files, which is, most of the time, the energy cells. That coupled with the previous bug, it was impossible to find anything but energy supply mission. I rewrote the generator so it doesn't have this weight, and supply missions should be me diversified now.
Finally, I fixed a bug that's only present in the deluxe edition. In some of the scenarios, if you kept the default empire and prefix name, your assets' names would be corrupted or incomplete.
My apologies for the inconvenience.
