Hello all! indie enthusiasts and gamer folk alike! Gather around for this week’s devlog where I… THE ARTIST... shall show you my innermost secrets behind all of the incredible and intense art making processes that took years of blood sweat and mostly tears to master:

Yup that was it, thank you for tuning in for this week’s devlog. See you next week where our programmer will avoid authorities after murdering a videogame artist in cold blood!

Dumb jokes aside, hi I’m Antonio Sotto-Mayor and I’ve been recently put in charge of art direction for this game, and oh boy has it been a bumpy ride. But before I talk about that, let me show you some of my work.

Here they are… Not the most pleasant look or angles, but the default unity scene can only do so much. Still i wanted to show what the models looked like without any smoke or mirrors.

The “regular eyed” of you might’ve noticed that there are some strange artifacts on some of the meshes. Don’t worry, I’m not here to commit career suicide and expose myself for the bad artist that I am (yet anyways), they’re intentional. So let’s take a look at that shall we?

Since our game has a lot of old game DNA in it, we decided to ape the PS1 vertex displacement a bit. Unfortunately, no, I did not make the shader, we got it from this lovely git “Github.com”. Although it has some lighting bugs I still quite like how it looks. (I’m sure I won’t change my sentiments on the matter in the near future, and I surely won’t regret picking this shader)(Hypothetical Foreshadowing).

Still for now we’re sticking with it.

For now that’s all I have to write about our project. We're currently going through Easter break so progress might slow down a bit as the team gets swamped with family events outside our control, but you can be sure that Daniel (Programmer) will be back next week to talk about something… Maybe booleans or something? See you next week.
