Read everything about the progress of Project IGI Reloaded and what will happen in there near future. A lot has changed...

I promised you an update for 2015, so here it is!

Back in 2012 I decided to develop a game called Project IGI Reloaded. My goal: reanimate a great and loved game with modern technology. The only problem was, I didn't even know how to develop a game. I started learning Unreal Engine 3 and noticed, developing a Tactical FPS isn't as easy as I expected. So I stopped developing IGI Reloaded and started with something smaller - Revenge: Rhobar's myth.

Now it's almost 2016 and there is still no IGI Reloaded - but I haven't forgotten about this game. Now the shocking news ... there will never be an IGI Reloaded! But before you stop reading, there will be something better! And here is why:

Developing a game takes a lot of time and money. Project IGI is a trademark owned by Square Enix, so I wouldn'e be able to sell the game/earn money. So I would put my private Money in a Project and would never see it again. I'm sure you understand the problems with this. So I decided to continue developing under a new name.

Beyond Enemy Lines (BEL) is in development since summer 2014 and is a tactical FPS in the style of Project IGI 1. In fact it is the exact same gameplay (with some light improvements) than in IGI 1.

Beyond Enemy Lines is Project IGI 3 with a different name.
(Due to copyright)

Here is, what Beyond Enemy Lines is and contains:

  • classic tactical FPS in the style of IGI 1
  • 10 Mission long, entirely new campaign
  • 4 Quick-Missions (Remakes of Project IGI 1 Maps)
  • 9 guns are included, all with iron sights
  • Intelligent AI (Smart-AI-System) with non-scripted, dynamic behaviour tree

The game is in development since Summer 2014 and is based on the new Unreal Engine 4. The release is when it's done - but my goal is to release it in 2016!

And because I know you want to see something - here are some early ingame Screenshots of the Trainyard remake:

I hope you like what you see and can understand my steps. Please comment your thoughts under this news. I'm very curious about what you think.

Don't forget to follow Beyond Enem Lines on IndieDB!

More news and informations about the game are revealed soon!

Is sounds promising and is already looking nice!
What was your main reason for switching from Unity to UE?

I never used Unity. I used Unreal Engine 3 and as Unreal Engine 4 was released, I updated to the new version ;-)
