As the winters pass by, we can't help but look back at this game and see how it evolved. It got pretty well, didn't it? We've revived it from the ashes back in 2010 and now it's having its own dev and support team, the forum is filled with suggestions and (now solved) bug reports, it even reached the headlights on moddb being in top 10 one year ago. The game itself is more fun, more stable, more attractive. It's almost perfect, one thing is still missing: the community! And here's where you come in.
We have a new quest for your hero: help spread news of The Protectors. How? We think there are two major ways:
- Talk to your friends&family, share images, articles on the internet, facebook, post screenshots on forums, 9-gag, show your skills on youtube. Anything that may make this game more popular. Fails are a plus!
-
Donations. A small gift of $1, $5 or even more will help us advertise where it really matters. Spare some coin for The Protectors this winter and it will grow in popularity ever more. There's a donation link at the bottom of this article.
If we do this right, the community will grow, veterans and newbies will join alike, and the multiplayer battles will become fiercer and greater. Legends will be born, tournaments and glory to be gained. We could create a ladder, specialized heroes, items and other prizes for the winners. This is the advantage of on going development game: the fan's voices are heard on the go and changes are made according to their wishes. We've been doing this for years and we're not going to stop now. Version 0.8.6 will be released this winter and it's going to be a lot of fun. So let's make sure everybody will hear of it.
All my friends know about The Protectors, ots just that I dont have many friends.
If I had time to learn how to make and upload quality video on Youtube I would do it. But Im currently on a laptop without great resolution.
Encourage your friends to talk to their friends and their friends' friends and their friends' friends' friends and...
Hmm. How do you feel about open sourceing it?
That's not possible. Anyone wanting the source code needs to sign an NDA.
