Open to the Public

The level editor is browser-based and can be used by anyone for free to build levels to suit your heart's desire. You can create a User Account if you want to publish levels to the in-game level browser, or download local copies just for your personal use.

The level editor was created using Vue.js and writes the levels in JSON format, which the game can parse thanks to some cool people at Newtonsoft. Testing and playing the levels will require a copy of Cymatically Muffed, but levels published by anyone can be accessed by the community in-game.

How does the level editor work?

Levels in Muffed are made up of two main components, Rooms and Stuffs. Rooms have different styles of floors and walls, and can be a full room with any arrangement of walls or one of a variety of corridor types, used to add some variety in the level space. Rooms and corridors can be rotated in any cardinal direction to set up the level however you see fit. Rooms are like the framework for the level.

Rooms with doorways can have one of the different door types added to them.

Stuffs are all of the stuff that you can use to fill the rooms and build the levels, ie: weapons, furniture, pickups, throwables, spawnpoints, the items for the different game modes (Capture the Flag, Cops and Bombers, Puc), and garnish to make your levels look more interesting. Stuffs are the building blocks of the level.

All of the stuffs can be positioned, copied, rotated, and set on top of or below other stuffs, so you can get crafty with your placement.

Bonus Weapons Update

In this update, we've also added a ton of new and cool weapons for your battling enjoyment! Some of the new weapons include a taser mechanic that is just a riot to hit your friends with :D
