Hi everyone! The Primal Carnage team is back with a vengeance now that 2011 has finally rolled around and this year will, without a doubt, be huge for us. So to keep the ball rolling, we'd love to share with you our main theme. Composed by Gareth Coker, "Rextended" is the perfect fit for Primal Carnage; you can really hear the characters and environments come to life.
Have a listen and let us know what you think (it's definitely best listened to loud).
And, just so your PC is all pimped out 'Primal Carnage style', we've also whipped up a couple of wallpapers (1080p of course) to keep your desktop happy. Go on, set them as your background so you don't forget to keep coming back for more.
We're also looking for more team members to help us finish off Primal Carnage so if you have what it takes, swing by our recruitment thread then drop us a line: Indiedb.com
Here's to 2011,

thats awesome
Yea thats heaps awesome and i noticed that it says (everyone else probably did as well) that the "Main Theme Is Rex-tended"
fantastic work guys. Gareth's music is extremely well done.
Awesome! No offense, but I don't think I'm gonna use the commando wallpaper, people might get the wrong impression...
I like the commando and his bustling megapack....
Thanks for the comments on the music people, very much appreciated. I think you're all going to like what we are doing with the interactive music....
Okay i'm Something of an amateur composer myself. And i have to say i'm very impressed with this. The composition and the sonics are great. In particular i like the little industrial bassline synth with the step sequencer on the Cutoff at the start and all the little touches like that.
I'm also glad the composer maintained a good dynamic ranges. The quiet parts are quiet and the loud parts are loud. None of the usual blemishes from computer based production.
My main complaint would have to be that as a "theme" song. It doesn't have any particular theme or leitmotif i'd associate with it. You think of jurassic park, you have a melody in your head. You think of star wars, you have a melody in your head you associate with it. To me this sounds a lot like filmic background score rather than an overarching theme
The opening on French Horn / Trombone is a leitmotif. :)
Yup, good job developing it as well.
I've always liked this theme song: Youtube.com :)
Fantastic stuff from a brilliant dev team - Gareth Coker is a legend in the making with the work he has done within the indie scene.
that are two beasts there...
