Here is a playable demo of the globe view and a video log to go with it for those who are interested in my thoughts behind Aker :)

Aker - Globe Demo

You can try it for yourself HERE!

And here is the very first Video Log to go with it!

So here is some of what I've been working on for the past 4 months.
I created everything shown in the demo/video log - all graphics, code and music. Once the Aker tools are fully functional, another artist will join me in the development of Aker and the team will be complete... Yes, it's just the two of us ;-)

Apart from the few subtle graphical glitches, what is there is relatively close to final quality. The textures will increase in size making everything more crisp but other than that feel free to comment on what is presented so far. It is important to notice that the style of Aker will not be realistic, a painted with slightly inked edges on simplified shapes will create the look for Aker.

Anyways, I hope you like what you see and I'll be back as soon as I can with more screens, videos and demos =)

Randomly generated aliens?

Strategic real time defense from said aliens?

Looks really cool!! Very impressed. Are you using unity pro, out of interest? and did I spy some atmospheric scattering?

Very impressive sir very impressive. As a fellow unity-er I feel your pain in creating really nice lighting.

Yes it is indeed Unity Pro and yes the clouds are volumetric, or at least a home made version of it =)

Unity doesn't have the best lighting that's for sure but it's doable ( not without getting a headache or two ) =)

Thanks for tracking!
