It is funny how changing one thing. Can change the game Dramatically. When I first started working on the game. I knew that I had the mech sizes the right size when I started implementing them. But they always seemed too small for some reason. Well, today I did a mech size comparison and made a height scale box that was 100% the same scale for all the mechs. Most mechs in Battletech/Mech Warrior are between 9 meters to around 18 meters tall. And I wanted to make sure the scale I was using was Similar.
Well, today I went online looking for a chart and found this.
And from this, I made a box that was 20m x 20m x 2m in size. And created a texture from the pic above.
Using this I made a true to scale height box in-game. And compared the heights. And realized I had everything mech size-wise Spot on. Then I compared the player character. And found out that, it was way too big. And that was what was making it seem like the mechs were small.
So now changed the size of the AK/OMNI player Character to about 2 meters tall. Anyway here are some pics of the results!
