Yeah it does, I understand that it takes money away from the actual devs but it is much easier to use for the buyer and a crazy amount of people who haven't heard of it will buy it.

I really would like an estimated playtime for this game, all new game developers skip the "estimated playtime" information. If I were to buy this game for like $20 and the game only would last like 2 hours I'd be mighty dissapointed.

but the game is looking awesome, really nicely done, it's eyecandy :)

it's very difficult to estimate play-time, but it should be around 7-10 hours.

...You won't pay $20 for a game you consider to be truly amazing? What do you play? Free flash games I suspect :p

I agree, 20 is a bit steep.

I paid that much for the boxed copy of World of Goo and I was kind of disappointed and I am not even sure that this game is as long and fulfilling of 20 dollars worth.

It still looks awesome nonetheless.

On the inverse, keep it away from steam and i'll have a go.

Why? Don't like giving a game to a much wider audience thus increasing sales? Makes sense to me.

A) Devs get less of each games value. Indi devs need money, not steam.
B) Steam is a money *****, backed with a terrible community with horribly immature crowds (not speaking of all steam communities, but the majority)
C) Metascore is FOS and doesn't help the sales when half the reviewers are good at manipulating English, but not rating a game fairly
D) One would have to run a process ***** in the background and be constantly connected to the internet in order to play the game, unless you want to use the uberglitch known as offline mode.

Sorry, I'm with calmflow on this one.

Not sure why I am getting involved in this but I would like it to go to as many distros as possible. This is purely my opinion:

A. Even though they may get less money per sale for steam sales that is mostly sales to people who would never have bought or even heard of the game before. Its worth the cut in profit for the extra amount of sales.

B. Well that is your opinion but really doesn't reflect anything about the sales of this game.

C. Not many gamers go by the metascore, if there is a demo and some good front page ads then people will buy it because the style is very striking and eye catching.

D. Offline has worked fine for me in the past when needed and the steam app is very light on my PC at least.

Again not trying to be an *** but just speaking my opinion on the whole online distro thing ;)

Either way this game looks amazing and will surely sell well in whatever fashion. Good work devs!

Halve the price and I would buy it. You can get way too many good games with tons of replay for $20 or under.
