It wouldn't be an ancient, mysterious tower without some mechanical contraptions...so here's one!

We've already established that there are demons lurking in Demon Tower. However, what would an ancient tower be without some mechanical contraptions that somehow still work after centuries? It wouldn't be a tower interesting enough to be featured in a video game or a movie, that's what. Luckily, this Demon Tower does have some contraptions in it and I'll show off one of them today!

Now, imagine if you will: You've been merrily jumping and hookshotting your way through Demon Tower, collecting coins and dodging anxious enemies. Then suddenly, you end up in this situation:

Those wooden planks don't seem like you can jump on them.

...or can you?

No, you can't.

Any ordinary hero would not be able to move past this area, but luckily Shino-kun is not an ordinary hero. Years of arduous ninja training have given him enhanced senses and almost superhuman abilities, which allow him to unleash one of the most powerful techniques handed down from generation to generation: Pulling that switch next to him.

And thus the path forward has opened! Now you can just hop on over like a gazelle.

Well, that didn't go as planned. But luckily, these platforms can also act as targets for your hookshot:

See, nobody needs to know!

These platforms are only one of the many things you can trigger using switches, but the only ones I have fully implemented so far. They are quite simple in concept but allow for a lot of flexibility in the game world, especially when it comes to puzzles. You're not the only entity affected by these by the way, so yes, you can indeed do this:
