Playing with attacking scenery, this time a big lamp. It's not animated, just physics. It needs a lot of adjustments but I wanted to show part of the process.
I also made a charging action before the enemies attack. This will help the player predict the attack in order to dodge it, and it also adds a bit of tension to gameplay.
This charging action on enemies consists of a few elements synched together:
- A growing particle system
- A light that grows its intensity and changes color,
- An increasing sound fx that ends with a mini climax.
Since I did this for the LampClaw enemy only, I'm in the process of adapting it to the other enemies. It shouldn't be difficult, so I hope I can show you the effect on the rest of the enemies very soon.
