Hello everyone, quick update:
Ok so, the Dross nests needed an art update, or more, I felt like doing some art. Just mixing it up a bit, ya know?
So, the bug spawners do not do anything different, but they are created differently now. The spawn location first finds the ceiling and create the center piece. Then the center piece ray casts out to find walls, tendrils are grown along these lines. Each segment randomly rotates and twists until it reaches the end or collides into a wall. Oh, and the segments also shrink in size as it goes.
Next lines are cast into the floor for eggs, my recommendation is do not tamper with these, they will draw in a lot of attention to the player if they do.
So initially the art was really rough. But, after a sculpt and paint they turned out pretty nice!
Also black slime drips from the tentrils. particles, trails, and gravity make those work!
Now I need to get back to all that important game play stuff. And THEN update all the other art in game, which is also very rough and very placeholder. Hopefully everyone likes the new bug nests.
