IndieCade is hosting Horizons, a virtual international event targeted at showcasing the next-generation of game developers and emerging creative talent, on June 12 and 13.

Presented in collaboration with the Higher Education Video Game Alliance (HEVGA), and made possible in part by support from Amazon Web Services, Kickstarter and the Knight Foundation, Horizons will introduce the latest work from academic game programs through a series of online panels, demos, gameplay and tournaments. Horizons is free to attend and will be broadcast on IndieCade’s Twitch channel, with networking and live chats on Horizon’s Discord.

This year’s inaugural IndieCade Horizons will offer emerging game developers an opportunity for career development and networking, in addition to showcasing the latest talent for industry professionals and recruiters, as well as gamers looking to be on the cusp of industry trends. Horizons will feature participation from 20 universities, including international schools Abertay University (Scotland), IT University of Copenhagen (Denmark), University of Malta Institute of Digital Games (Malta) and University of Canterbury (New Zealand); participating schools from the US include USC, UC Santa Cruz, UC Riverside, Kent State, UT Austin, Michigan State University, DePaul University, Northeastern University, Long Island University, George Mason University, Bradley University, Marist College, Miami University, University of Miami, University of Tulsa, American University, and the Columbus College of Art and Design.
