Finally we managed to push it through. The long awaited demo (at least from our point of view) is out. There were some technical issues we had to tackle, but we prevailed! So now we can proudly release our first demo of How smart is Cat. It features the smallest island of the game. It is designed to get you started and give you a feel of what to expect down the road. Be warned, it is a challenge for even the brightest of minds. Are you one of them? Find out in the demo!
For more information on game-play, you can check out our videos or ask right here.It should work on most computers, but check out our news update about system requirements. Thanks for stopping by and follow us on other sites too. Looking forward to your input.
I have got and already I've started 5 chimneys. Now trying to do smoething more. First what I want to tell - enchance animations of kitty, pelase. Also textures of ground are very poor.
t.b.c.
Will do! Thanks for the feedback, if there is anything else do tell. Also can you be more specific about animations and the ground texture, so we know what improvements to aim for.
I've forgot add - atmosphere is like in MYST. These machines and mechanism are both unearthly and strange.
Yes we kinda went for that kind of atmosphere. I hope we managed to get there :)
Damn You with magnets! :)
More serious - I think quest where speed is most important (like clocks) may be negative for people who prefer clear puzzles.
Chimneys can be easier if you increase character speed with the slider in the bottom left corner of the screen. Also what exactly do you mean by "clear puzzles"?
Puzzles based only on thinking not speed of kitty :)
I did not know it's possible to increase speed of small one. Goot to know!
BTW - today I put info at IndieGamer page. I hope this way I'll help to promote it.
Aha got it! We wanted to make puzzles different a bit, but yes most of puzzles are based on thinking and imagination and don't rush the player. There is also a help window you can find in the main menu with more information about controls and stuff. Thank you so much for playing and the feedback, also we really appreciate you putting us on your page. Let us know about any other stuff on your mind, we will do our best to address any issues.
Ive tried it on:
Kubuntu 64bit: keeps saying "cannot execute binary file". Maybe its me doing sg wrong.
WinXP 32bit: Works, but all the menu textures are messed up. I can make a screenshot if you want.
Win7 64bit: Works without problems.
The overall atmosphere and colors of the island are great. I think you could improve the ground textures by adding some vegetation, small stones, bumps ...it just looks too flat. Also the lines where the objects and the water surface meets the ground are too visible.
Hi there! Thanks for this. Yes on Linux there may be some trouble. you might try going to file properties and check "run as executable" at least that worked on regular Ubuntu 14.04. We will seriously consider adding some additional "decor" and the ground texture is definitely up for review. Thanks again, keep it coming :3
Hi again. We had a friend run it on windows XP and he reported no problems. If it's not too much trouble we would appreciate that screenshot you offered and if you could tell us on what settings did you run the game. We really appreciate your help on this.
Db.tt
It does the same thing on all settings. Thats on my laptop which is rather old. (GPU: Radeon Xpress 1100M) ...7years or so, so dont worry:)
It could be a faulty OpenGL extension but AFAIK Unity uses Direct3D by default.
Aha, that really is messy... We are somewhat limited on the hardware, so we couldn't test it on a whole lot of different machines. We will think about possible solutions and maybe if other players report similar issues, we might get a better idea on how to address it. Sorry for the trouble you had with this, its our first release and we really appreciate you giving it a go. If there are any other stuff on your mind, you'll make our day telling us about it :)
How would you feel about me making a video about this game?
We would feel overwhelmed with joy, but please note this is our first release and some things may change in the coming months, so go easy on us :3
Hi. It runs great on my Mac. Love the game so far!
Having trouble with the 'track' puzzle though... I guess the stage before is wrong?!

Hey there, yes some puzzles are connected with others. Try the hint system and maybe get a better idea on what to do. If you have done so already, then the puzzle before is probably not solved properly. Once you solve it you will know (there's a little animation letting you know you solved it). I hope this helped, if there is still a problem let us know and we'll dig deeper.
