As you can see in the images each circle represents a level that you can enter. When a circles is red it means you can play it and each time you complete a level the next one will be available to you. The game has a specific order in which the levels need to be completed but you can always go back to any level available to you and play it once again.
When you can onto one of the circles it will also gives you some information about the level including it´s name as well as the maximum number of collectible bolts/golden bolts that you have and if you are missing any.
