As of 12/13/13, "Growsim" is open for contributions on Indiegogo. The goal is modest and intended to fund Steam Greenlight and marketing only. If you can't / won't contribute, please try the demo and share your thoughts!
There are some nifty perks for contributing, too! Get the full beta version, or the full beta plus rights to name a patient and clinc, or both of those and the right to create your own strain of marijuana for the game.
