I mistakenly deleted some support files from the Unity editor recently and as a result the game encountered dozens of errors and I was unable to rectify them. I did have a backup but it is several months old, so I decided to restart the project .
i will be using the latest version of the Unity engine as well as RAIN, for the AI code and UFPS, for the first person controller code. I had coded in a basic AI and it was working quite well but by using RAIN I'll be able to add more AI features.
Using UFPS will provide a more robust fps controller and has features I wanted to use for the player so it's a nautural choice.
I will be able to reuse the assets that were in the most recent build, as they were not affected. The only two assets I will have to remake are the maintenance building and the storage building, as I prototyped them using Probuilder.
The name change is actually the result of a post I made on Facebook where autocorrect changed Watch to Watching and I thought, hey, that's not too bad actually. So, the game is now going to be called "The Night Watching".
Thanks and I'll post another update within two weeks, as I am going to try to keep to a two week update schedule.
That's too bad...I was looking forward to this...
The project is still in progress. I am simply I using the newest version of unity to restart it and reuse the assets I had been using in the early version.
It's coming along nicely and I will have another update by the end of the month
