In this development report we want to focus on the (new) world we created for version 0.3. The new release will bring quite a lot of visual improvements, such as new Image Effects (Antialiasing, Crease shading, sun shafts to name just a few) and to highlight this even more we created several new places for the world of SurviveOn.

in this development report we want to focus on the (new) world we created for version 0.3. The new release will bring quite a lot of visual improvements, such as new Image Effects (Antialiasing, Crease shading, sun shafts to name just a few) and to highlight this even more we created several new places for the world of SurviveOn. We also added things to already existing places and made them look even better.


But now let’s jump right into the new world of SurviveOn:


In the pictures above you are able to see a brand new area to the game: The medical station. Located in the north-western part of the map it is an excellent place to search for medical supplies but also for weapons and military vehicles, as it was once owned by the military. This picture shows the forest area located on the south-eastern part of the island. We’ve redone this part of the map several times now and still aren’t satisfied with the current design. There is still a lot to improve and many of the things you are able to see in the picture are subject to change.


The area you are able to take a look at here is the military base located on the east-coast of the world. There isn’t much to be added to this location but a few things were changed here. For example: We worked on the vegetation and want to add animals soon. In the future we plan to make those animals tameable but it may take a while to add this, due to the amount of stuff that is still planned and the amount of bugs in the game. We will however play around with this idea and hopefully integrate it into the game as soon as possible.

One more thing: We added a lot more detail to the island located in the center of the map (still not enterable). We plan to open it in a future version.

Ok, that was it for this development report. When everything works out, version 0.3 is going to release on the 12th of december this year. We’re currently very busy preparing the release because it’s not a 100 percent safe yet. We’ll keep you up-to-date.
