I've been hard at work getting some of the groundwork of the game's systems in place. This video showcases some of them, particularly, NPC emotes, storage containers, and time magic.

Speaking of time magic, since this game has a very limited play area, the player will use time as a means to explore. So instead of exploring a large map, the player will explore the changes of a small environment through time. You also might create interesting happenings by bringing things from one point in time to another.

The next mechanic in progress is creatures that will spend their lifespans in your garden. Some will be beneficial pets, others will be pests to deal with.
