Now the downtime directly managed to come by the time this release has been made. In fact beeing a 2005 release it became now a 2006 release. Have fun with it.
Version 1.3 has been release of the DE Normal Map Generator including a couple of fixes and better normal map generation code as well as some speed optimizations.
The DE Normal Map Generator allows to create Normal Maps for the use in Game Applications or 3D Editors like Blender3D. Supported are the generation of Geometry Normal Maps (from Hi-Res Meshes), Displacement Maps and merging Detail Maps.
The new export script for Blender3D exports now also normals and tangents separatly allowing for high control over the generated normal maps. Normals are calculated using the Creasing property of edges in Blender3D. Tangents are set to be the same as normals, which is ok in the most cases.
