There are a lot of things that still need to be worked on, that much is true. I've decided to scrap spending so much time making the graphics (because even the pixels you see take a long time to draw), and work solely on making the game function.

Here's the requirement list I've made up so far about the project's "TODO's" when it comes to a playable demo. There is more required than this before the finished game, but this will provide the absolute bare-bone test drive of the game. I don't know about you, but I like lists, so here it is:

  • Resource Management: Properly gathering and using resources from the planet
  • Production Management: Structures and units being able to be built (using resources)
  • Research Management: A few technologies that branch from one another, not the complete list
  • Map Altering: Actions that can terraform the planet (War causing craters, technological advances helping level mountains and bring water back to the surface, etc)
  • Enemy Faction AI: Pretty self explanatory
  • Information Panels: Add info to be more visible to the user
  • Turn-based News: Get updates about what happened over the course of the last quarter (quarters are what the years are called)

If you haven't already checked out the video of the progress so far, do it! I'd love to hear some feedback:

To a land that is void of all liquids and has nothing but a charred, cratered landscape to provide:

But with the ability to reform the planet, and start repairing the damages over time, like bringing water back to the surface:

This project is going on a temporary hold as I work on a far smaller project. It will be coming back in the future, but for now do not expect anymore updates for a little while. I apologize!
