This week's article we're going to talk about our advances in the game mechanics.
We implemented an enemy which can patrol between waypoint and when he detects the played within his vision, he will chase him for a given amount of time, after which he will return to his normal patrol.
For now he can still detect the player through walls, but as he is chasing the player he will go around walls. If the player remains in his vision for too long it will be game over.
We also implemented two types of NPC, one which will reveal a speech bubble above him the closer the player gets to him, like you'd be hearing a conversation in the background, and other that you will be able to directly speek with.
This way you can see conversations on the background that will reveal you important information about the history and the levels, something that we see important in order to not interrupt the gameplay to give you this information.
In conclusion, today's article is not aesthetic, but you can see how work some main mechanics of Caracazo and our advances on the programation part of the project.
