I just released Build 8 to the dev team for them to play with. Basically as of release to the team the engine is complete, other than minor bugs and features I may add in the future. It amazes me how much work has been put into the engine in just the last year. I started with nothing more that an image of an M4 pasted on the screen with some pre-rendered terrain and now the engine supports .map files, VTF textures, physics, mods, the whole nine yards.

Game News:
Well, now that the engine is done it's time to step up development on the game front. Content-wise new maps and models are in development. Work code-side will focus a little more on the multiplayer. I'm dying to see how quickly the game will develop.

I would also like to mention that I'm planning on starting work tomorrow on a modcast that shows some of the engine's features, especially modding capabilities.

They're non-animated test models that will be replaced w/i a month, even if I have to make them myself in the very little amount of spare time I have left.

Also I'm not trying to impress right now, it's a standard post mentioning that the engine is basically complete and that work on the actual game is moving to the top of the list for development.

I would also like to mention that the pic on the right is from over a year ago and the one on the left was taken yesterday. I posted them to show how much the engine has changed.

Great work, so the engine is a modified version of Irrlicht?

ya, the I started with a basic Irrlicht .9 port for Game Maker and built upon it adding new features. I've considered upgrading to Irrlicht 1.2 but for now I don't want to take the chance of ruining a good thing.

The screenshots are alright, but I have seen Irrlicht handle Q3 quality gfx. Why don't you push the engine more?

cos there is no base work flow to get art assests ingame, as i said to kevman on many occasions news like this doesnt impress ppl

well you could have replaced my horrible map with some textures or somthing im sorry to say but that pic is rubbish

Lawl calm down, it's an important post with game engine details. I don't see you complaining about Dragonlord's news posts, and they don't look the most aesthetic. Yet the interesting content is in the engine details.

Nice work :) I'm interested to see where this project will go from here.
