Post news Report RSS Blade Symphony trailer and promotional website reveal!

To wrap up the week of news updates, Puny Human unveils Blade Symphony's latest teaser trailer and promotional website, featuring stunning graphics and intense combat!

Posted by on

Today marks the end of the seven day news extravaganza for Blade Symphony's revival. One week ago we resurrected the project by displaying marvelous in-game combat and character screenshots, only to be complimented a few days later by exploring the depths of the Rosa Bastion's breathtaking library, halls and courtyard. As our grand finale, we bring you a gameplay trailer that shows off the fast-paced sword dueling gameplay and collaboratively-built art-intensive levels.

Since this ends our week-long update, Puny Human is now making public our promotional website for Blade Symphony, where you will be able to find media and information that is regularly being updated. Visit Blade-Symphony.com to keep track of the latest news, and be the first to know about our upcoming release by following Puny Human on Twitter and watching the Blade Symphony Facebook page.

This is so sexy. I'm glad to see more games and mods using the Source engine for games other than FPSs. Like Vindictous and Blade Symphony!

Agree 100%.

never imagined Source would output such fantastic Melee themed games, I mean, there were some good ones, but they always fell short, Kingdoms Collide needs a few more buckets of paint, but this, Vindictus, & Kingdoms Collide form a holy trinity of games that took Source past just a FPS Engine. :P

There's nothing wrong with FPSs, some of the best games i've ever played are from that genre (Thief, System Shock, Deus Ex, BioShock (and soon to be BioShock Infinite), Half-Life, Fallout 3, Amnesia: Dark Descent). What's so new and innovative about a third-person perspective game with swords and magic? I mean i'm not trying to bash Blade Symphony, but you guys are acting like this is the second coming of Christ and all other FPS genre source games are crap.

No, it's just 95% of all Source mods have been FPS, we're just happy to see someone do something ELSE with the Engine. =/

I play lots of FPS.

I think their point is that the Source Engine isn't really suited for good melee games, but that people are still making excellent ones. I'm impressed, for sure.

Pretty much it, tons of Melee source mods were announced, pretty much all but a few dropped dead, and even those that didn't had a release or two and gave up, and said "Source isn't suited for melee combat"

Then, games like this, Vindictus, Kingdoms Collide come along and show them that they just didn't have what it took to make it work!:P

Lol, the advantage of making an HD mod, Making logic sound like it's not "bashing" and have followers of that mod support you with a nice ego warming thumbs up.

Says matthewD, the guy who thinks his fps is the greatest to ever grace the source engine.

I'm defending the FPS genre -- not my mod. People always complain that the FPS genre is just about mindless shooting even when history has already shown that some of the best games ever made have come from that genre. My MOD pales in comparison to the games I listed earlier.

That's the problem. No one was bashing anything, you merely assumed we were. =/

Third Person is easy in Source.
Moddb.com

What you want are levels based on sky/side/whatever views and different weapons... That's hard.

It looks amazing. The animations are fantastic, and I've been waiting for more news on this mod for awhile, but what's the song in the trailer?

Awesome, my one worry with this sort of 1v1 duel thing is lagg. If one or the other person laggs how will that affect the duel? I prefer fair and square fights that aren't ruined by one person having a lagg spike and being unable to do a counter attack move or something, how will Blade Symphony handle it?

Source Engine can't predict 1 second late future...
Guess someone have to, to make duels even :)

Hi Ducksauce, I'm pretty much doing everything I can to ease the latency problems. Right now around 120 ping and under is playable. I'm sure this will improve as we get closer to release.

that's pretty good, still there's a limit to what you can do with it, but I hope it will be enough, I guess it's mainly gonna depend on the servers too(so people from all over can have good ping on a server nearby, but that often doesn't happen).

Anyway, good luck with this, I hope it doesn't die out again :)
