Post news Report RSS Background & Level Design - Maia Development Diary (March 29-April 04)

This week's update focuses on the base version of our level and a few updates to the game's background.

Hello again!

This week, we focused on adding some perspective into our background, to see if it would be a better approach for the game. Also, the game's main level is starting to take shape!

Environment Art

Our artist, Celso, experimented with some perspective and found it to be a good approach for our game. It adds depth and volume to the city that Maia travels through. See for yourself!

We are still working with different angles to see the one that fits the best, we'll keep you updated on the one we settle with!

Level Design

Our game designer, Fernando, has worked on the initial draft for Maia's main level! This is not the finalized version, but it is the one we shall take as a base moving forward.

The red rectangle represents Maia, and the blue areas are wind gusts that come out of the ground or walls to push Maia upwards or sideways (should she choose to use her umbrella).

Here are a few close-ups:

And that's it for this week! We hope to have shorter updates like this one every week, but also some larger overviews of our progress in every big breakthrough of our development stage.

As always, we hope to hear your feedback and comments on our new project and make sure to follow us at our Twitter and Instagram. See you next week!
