Today version 0.0.19 of "Apocalypse Not" was released which boasts several new features bringing the game a giant step closer to it's first official 0.1 beta release. The game is currently available at the official website but will soon be available for download on ModDB as well. You can also view the latest video from the ModDB website here.
This release included 2 new weapons, the Katana and 9mm Beretta pistol. There is also a new set of item pickups which provide ammo for primary and secondary weapons, and medical kits that will restore your health. With these new additions a few other things were taken away, namely starting the game with all weapons. Instead you now begin with a random melee weapon, and you must scavenge the surrounding neighborhoods to find a sidearm, rifle, and ammunition.
There are many other features listed below, but some you'll have to find yourself by playing the game. Work is already moving along quickly on the next version which promises to make even greater strides. And a kickstarter is also planned in the near future to support bringing the game into full development, and more detail will be available in the coming week.
The following is a full list of features and bug fixes included in this latest release for both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems.
And last but not least, here is a little bit of eye candy from the 0.0.19 release to show off the new weapons.
· Police Station (added more detail)
· Road textures updated
· Options for mouse sensitivity
· Added new weapons
· Better fence textures
· Weapon dropping and picking up
· Basic Title Screen
· More Zombies and Survivors
· Health, ammo, and weapons spawn randomly
· Start with 1 melee weapon only
· Reload sound played even when not reloading
· Slowdown after respawn
