Over the last couple of weeks I've been completely overhauling the animation system in my game in preparation for the upcoming combat system update. This week I continued on with this by adding sound effects and particle effects to the animation system.
All animations can now have any number of particle effects and sound effects associated with them, allowing for a huge range of awesome effects! The system is pretty flexible and allows for specific frames of the animation to be chosen to emit particles and play certain sound effects.
On top of that, sound effects can also be chosen randomly from specific groups of sound effects, instead of just using the same sound effect each time. For example, this would allow multiple slash sounds to be associated with a slash animation, meaning that a different slash sound effect would be played each time the animation is carried out, adding a bit more diversity to the combat system!
You can see these new features in action in the devlog video below! I'd love to here any feedback or suggestions that you might have, and if anyone would like to get involved with making models, textures, animations or sound effects for the game then send me a message!
Thanks for reading! :)
