I now have Friday's off from work now. This will allow me to have 3 days off now. Now I can finally get back to this project. As you all may know, im enrolled in another semester, and lately I have not had time to work on my mod unfortunately. Sure I could ponder ideas and such, but not bring them to life because of being bogged down with school plus full time job. Now with that Friday, its 4 days of work.
I also wanted to say that I now know how to do basic animation in Autodesk Maya. This will allow me to achieve what I always wanted. Braining my worlds to life. Living trees, pedestrian actors in a urban area, spastic animated entity scare events, birds flying about and maybe butterflies, cars passing by the street. Relay the only limitation is your imagination and I know I strive for big things, but I think its a good thing to do, even though they require more technical skill learning curves. The only learning curve I need to learn now is UV Texturing, and how to implement the animations to Amnesia The Dark Decent.
Lastly, my mod will take a risk. Some parts of the story will feel adventures, and other parts will feel horrific. But if I play my cards right, I think I can make it work. Here is what I am sure everyone is concerned of "Is the story of the mod at-least finished by now?" The answer is...almost. I do know I and Stig have nailed down the direction to take of the story, its just those flushing out of the story to take care of. Missing dialogue scenes, and notes into the context of the new direction. This coming Friday on the 11th of October, im going to do nothing but story story story all day.
So that is the news so far. Apologies for no game development progress news yet. But it now looks like I will finally have the time to make progress happen. And the release for the mod is still TBA. I guess this project just turned into one of those passion projects. I strive to explore new technical limitations of Amnesia. As for my final words before the news of when the story will be documented, after this project, I do want to make a futuristic racing game on UDK.
