Hello everyone,

We're finally in Alpha! Interstellar Space: Genesis is now (virtually) feature complete.

It's been more than five years working on ISG. We came a very long way since we first announced the game back in October 2016 (around 2 years ago).

This version contains all the gameplay systems and the game is now fully playable with 4 races at the moment. We plan to have at least 6 races at release.

There is a lot of new stuff since Pre-Alpha 10. Pre-Alpha 11 was a consolidation build where all the gameplay was added and playtested with the support of the community. If you're interested to know the full history of changes since Pre-Alpha 10 please check this release note.

We are very pleased with the feedback we received from you. This Alpha is the result of all our collaboration and hard work since the days of Pre-Alpha 2 (for the VIPs) and Pre-Alpha 7 (for everyone).

But we're not there yet. Closed-beta will start soon, and we'll be improving and polishing the game, adding content and all the remaining art for the release in Q2 2019.

Compatibility: Saved games from previous versions may work in this new version but we strongly advice that you start new games to benefit from the new changes and bug fixes fully.

UI

  • New tooltip in the Galactic Council now shows the votes breakdown for each empire between number of POPs, number of strategic resources, wonders built and artifacts found).
  • All weapons descriptions in the ship design screen were revised. The description has a "flavor text" first (in white) and then any special weapon bonuses or penalties follow in orange.

BUGS

  • Fixed an issue with the engines (they were too big) of the "Condor" ship found in ruins, causing the ship's texture to become blue.
  • Fixed a typo in the weapons description, where it said "colling down", now reads "cooling down".
  • Fixed an issue where the Fighter Bays and Bomber Bays special system was taking too much space which made it impossible to fit even in Battleships.
  • Fixed an issue where more than 999 structural damage would not fit and would only show 100 instead of 1000 in the Ship Design screen.
  • Fixed a typo on the "Hurry Construction" tooltip in the colony screen to remove an extra white space there.
  • Fixed a game-breaking bug when going to the game menu from inside the system view it would hang the game. If would also hang if a space culture perk was picked from inside the system view, by opening the space culture screen there.
  • Fixed an issue where the race Unique Abilities icons were being rendered in the wrong place in 5:4 and 4:3 resolution formats.
  • Fixed a typo on the "Sentient Asteroid" event, was "reckon", now "recon".
  • Fixed a bug where the Theory of Everything space culture perk (that grants 2 free techs) was not updating the tech costs correctly for the techs in the same level as the granted techs.
  • Fixed a bug where the Prestige unique ability was being unlocked by the first leader desire met in the game instead of the desire from a leader of the player, as it was supposed to be.
  • Fixed a bug where negative reparations values were being presented when using the Armistice race unique ability. And the Armistice reparations were not being deducted from the treasury of the player that asked for the Armistice.
