Just wanted to make a quick introduction and write some words on how the game development is progressing. I started working on this game in February 2016 on a hobby basis. I work as a software developer at day and game developer at night. Somewhere in between I also get time to be a father of two and a husband :) I've always had a strong passion for gaming and publishing my own game has been a dream since childhood. I'm hoping to make that dream come through in 2016.
Age of Space is first and foremost a phone/tablet game. I want the game to have controls that is fit for phones but the gameplay to have enough depth for a PC game. My inspiration for this game has been a old flash game "Age of War" (both title and gameplay I guess..) which kind of took off a while back with its easy but addicting gameplay. The problem with that game was that after a short while the tactics were quite obvious. In Age of Space you'll constantly need to consider the enemy fleet composition and try to counter it with your own fleet using as little resources as you can.
You build your economy my mining for minerals. You need to balance between buying combat ships and mining vessels to get ahead of your opponent.
At this point I'm quite confident about the actual gameplay but there is still a lot of polish, artwork, and ui to be done.
My focus at the moment is trying to get rid of all placeholder gfx and improving the game's visuals. End of next week I'm hoping to upload an updated gameplay video. I'm also working on establishing network in social medias so please follow me if you'd like.
