Post news Report RSS A new enemy approaches!

I have been working on adding a new enemy to the game. The concept started out as an eyeball and turned into a combination of an eye and an amoeba.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! We are showing off some art and a video featuring our new enemy the Evil Eye.

I had a couple ideas for what I wanted this enemy to do. All of them involved some form of duplicating itself. The original idea was having it be stationary and copy itself across the screen. I was worried it would be too frustrating and it had the chance to use unnecessary draw calls. So, I decided to make the Evil Eye move and multiply as it gets closer to the baby. Check out the video below:

Thanks for checking us out. :)

The new Evil Eye artwork is great.
Will there be any variation between the red one and the purple one?
For example, is one faster than the other, or does one multiply faster?

We made a red and purple version because we had a debate over what color would best fit the other enemies. For now I plan on using only one type of Evil Eye, but I'm not sure what color I will end up using. Which do you prefer?

I like the purple one better because it looks less like a detached retina. Plus it also makes it kinda creepy and godesque like some sort of creepy Mythological character. Though I do think the purple is a bit too pastel it's still really cool!

I prefer the red one, it stands out as more of a warning or more of a threat. The purple one seems less threatening.
