Post news Report RSS 3D to 2D to 3D!

It has come to realization that, if we make MyWorld in 3D now, it will be... Crap, basically. Without the money to pay for decent team we'll have half-assed graphics. So, we're going to make MyWorld in 2D now, then hopefully that will become popular and we will gain a profit to support a 3D game in the future.

Posted by on

The Summary pretty much sumises our situation.

After a couple of months working on a 3D game, it dawned on the MyWorld team that it was going to look like absolute rubbish. So, we're going to make MyWorld in 2D for now, then in the future make it the 3D game I - we - get wet dreams of.
Hopefully this detour won't throw off too many of our supporters.

This also gives us the chance to test and define MyWorld's features, so they'll be far better in the 3D MyWorld, too. We're going to keep as many of the features in as possible, although some of them may be far too complex for a little 2D engine to manage - such as population control for wild animals (ie, every kill will change the worldwide population, overhunting equalling in extinction).

Our thanks for your support and everlasting patience on this endeavour. :)

This is currently a 2D Project, till we can support 3D, so I don't think 3DS Max will be required just yet. (:

32x64 sprites, semi-classic, sort of the late 90s RPGs. I'll upload a screenshot when it's *just* above making your eyes bleed :]
Screenshots will be unprocessed... I'd like to get some ambient light in, and such, but that will be much later in the making process :]

Indeed. I have all you guys to help me along, anyway! How could I possibly let you down, without careful planning? ;)
