This is what i have got for the 3D map at the moment, as you can see the map isn't finished so try to imagine using that map with the island completed.

I had a go at making the 3D map i was talking about earlier, there is alot of bugs with it at the moment but it works. You are able to rotate the camera and i will hopefully allow the camera to zoom in.
If you think i should have a 3D map say, if you think overwise or have a cool creative idea tell me :D
