Due to the delays in releasing 0.1.6 (thanks in part right now to issues in the current base CK2 version) it has been decided to provide limited access to the development SVN. This access is an “at your own risk” situation, if by accessing the svn you manage to screw up your PC or CK2 installation we offer no warranty or guarantee. The version you will be accessing is the currently in development version of 0.1.6, it is riddled with bugs many of which are beyond our control to fix (hound Paradox for a new patch with Captain Gars’ fixes), bear this in mind when playing.

A free account with the ParadoxPlaza is required along with registering your Steam Key for CK2 to access the subforum. The ParadoxPlaza is the official forums of the Developers & Publishers of Crusader Kings 2 (Paradox Development Studio/Paradox Interactive). Along with access to the modification subforums you will also gain access to the Tech Support forums for Crusader Kings 2 as well as a wealth of other informative subforums and discussions.
There are lots of mods that do what Elder Kings does which don't have problems with the restrictions, I don't know what you tried to do, but I imagine there's a way around it.
Damn, some of these new portraits are absolutely gorgeous, give my props to the artist behind them.
Just look at the AGOT mod, they can't release a new version until Paradox fixes their event triggers (which were broken in the horse lords update). I haven't looked at CK2 modding at all but i would hazard a guess as to say it's the same situation with Elder Kings, in which case there is no way around it, Paradox just needs to fix their own code.

There really aren't a lot of mods that do what we do, and those that do are largely aping or directly deriving their systems from Elder Kings (with some exceptions). If you're a member of the ParadoxPlaza you may notice that another large total conversion that does just about as much as we do also isn't releasing a new version for the current patch until Paradox fix the issues and a number of other large TCs also have yet to update to the latest version.
We refuse to release a mod that is half functional, but we're offering access to our development version. If this isn't acceptable, well honestly I don't care. The option is there to play the latest iteration of the mod on the latest patch for those that want to.

You won't. The SVN link is only accessible via the Paradox forums.

Just wanted to drop by and thank you guys for making such in awesome mod for one of my favorite games and fantasy settings! While I'm not going to be playing your development version because I'd rather wait for the full release, I appreciate the over and wish you guys the best of luck. Let's all hope that paradox stops screwing around and fixes the game :/
