Always no demo ready for now, despite what I have announced, a first demo to the end of 2014. I’ve fallen behind on my schedule, is the problem to work on my free time. Also I’ve been busy the past six months on an another project, a commercial one
The aerial part is working and the frame rate is not so bad, about 60 frames per second for a dogfight like that. But I guess with the ground part (ground unit but also a ground detailed map) the frame rate will decrease significantly. So I’m thinking about improvements and optimizations of my 2D engine to keep a good frame rate.
About the map, I consider two main options. Either a detailed and realistic map as Google Earth. Or a stylized map with only the important elements. I need to do some tests and see the visibility of the units/planes on the different style of maps. I guess the size of the hexagon is good, but I thinking about the size of the aircraft planes. May be they need to be slightly increased.
