Maybe I've gone too far with the mystery, I admit. I think you will like it, a lot... there is a lot of love put into this project. Yes, I have been lazy at times, but I can assure you that I have left my soul in this project. I promise to show content soon... I completely understand the frustration of having to play the broken beta 2, and the problem was always that I added more content before fixing bugs, that's why a patch never came out, I always approached it as an extended version (and of course with many bugs fixed), which, due to an out-of-control ambition, has extended for years... but I repeat, I have put my soul here... I am very sorry for the wait!

is like HL2, only difference is sometimes some objects have secondary actions (opening hgrunt backpacks and spawning items) and the hand model showing when throwing it (both hands if the object is big)

Im so used to the Q for kick, the thing is now the player can carry so many weapons so at the end Im using scroll most of the time for weapon switching. I don't know why config resets, it should'nt

Please yes. I need to rest from this, even I was enjoying all of the development since the beginning, this must end. I decided to make a final release, is the best for the mod and if sometime I want to come back, I guess it must be for a good reason, probably bug fixing.

I tried to compile for myself the xashXT source code. Everything is fine with the launcher and the server, but when compiling the client I get the "can't initialize client.dll". I have noticed that the .dll that comes with xashXT in its build is 500 kb aprox. and the compiled one is 1.2 mb... any idea?

You are right. The thing is that I do this in my free time, because basically I'm a Half-Life fan. What happened with the new version? Maybe I have opened too many possibilities. This has made beta 2 development too slow, but now I'm having a few days to organize all the work and I think it's possible to have beta 2 in 1 or 2 months. The problem with dates is that sometimes it deserves a lot to dedicate more time. You will understand when beta 2 come out.
The solution now is to remove a lot of unfinished content wich will be in future versions, fix some bugs and finish a couple of maps of the "alternative campaign" (I was thinking about adding small campaigns of 4/5 classic maps in each beta release). I will never stop working on the mod because I love it! And if one day I see the possibility, I would like very much to add the multiplayer mode and make more classic maps. I promise to bring news soon! Happy new year

In BHL one shot at head or two can take down enemies, and now you will aim with the sight so I think this problem will be solved. I edited all the skills and damages to balance too.

Yeah you're right. Is difficult to balance with the limits of the engine. Some mappers exploit these limits so if BHL is exploiting too... the result is the game don't run or some entities don't render. Anyway I'm constantly trying to take advantage of all resources in a more efficient way.

I'm working on some of the opposing force weapons (those that adding make sense in the original campaign like desert eagle, sniper rifle, new melee weapons...). About "Brutal Opposing Force", it would be awesome but there is a lot of features that I don't know how to recreate with mi actual skills (ropes, some creatures, etc.) so it's not in my plans right now

I want to create a new campaign (and give the player the possibility to choose between it or the original maps) and now I'm working in some doom/doom II/quake maps... I don't know yet how the progression of the maps will be...
