Really like the look of this game. Hell, I love it even! It's cute and fun! Trying to decide if I want to hop in yet though. It doesn't seem like there's a lot to do in there yet and $21 is a little steep for such uncertainty. (plus I've bought a lot of Desura that has fallen into development hell) I will be watching however and hoping this game keeps looking as promising as it does now!

The patch seems to have fixed the doors and wires...still can't connect lamp posts, but it's playable again! Thanks for being n top of the patch!

This last patch to 1.0.4.1 seems to have broken a lot. =/ Monsters spawning in light, wires are no longer placeable... Going to have to wait for another patch for it to be playable again.

Can't figure out what you mean by "mounted". I had the same question. I can't seem to connect anything to the middle of the socket.

Wow, I got this yesterday, and have already seen...three? Maybe four updates? Can't say the devs aren't adressing issues. Had a crash because of wire placement, only to restart and get a patch that fixed wire placement. XD Really is addictive, if a little slow at times. Also rough, but having bought Minecraft in alpha, this is pretty damn slick in comparison. There's a number of small things that could be brought up. Slow health regen in beds, the inability to pass wires through walls and floors, the almost invisible nature of doors when they're closed. But it seems like these are just the typical early game hiccups that will be adressed down the line. After all, Minecraft is only NOW fixing it's damn lighting on stairs! All-in-all this game's off to a roaring start.

To all the "this is a rip-off"ers out there, is it like Terraria? Yeah, quite a bit. Is it like Starbound will be? Probably. Does it take quite a bit from Minecraft? Certainly. But if you're going to lift ideas, those are about the best places to do it. And pretty much everything people create, (movies, books, furniture, trains, forks, sweaters, pizzas, scientific theories, glassware, and yes, even games) has the imprint of any number of things that came before it. The question is, does it ADD anything? And in this case, the answer is yes. There are plenty of new ideas, and evolutions of old ideas here, all executed very well, if a bit rough in spots (I'm sure more polish is coming) making it worth wile undertaking. Oh, and "released" isn't the same thing as "finished", so relax!

This game's actually damn good, though still buggy, and crashes often. Speaking of which, it needs an autosave. Lost a LOT of progress to crashes to the point I barely want to play until the next update. =/

Not bad. Has potential, but a lot still feels iffy at best. Combat is really just...not there yet. Melee is pointless. Hope to see a lot more from this in the future though.

Seem to of hit a mojor bug with the new dressers (whatever they're for) Some professions seem to get drawn to them and stuck in the shop. I'd say they're trying to haul them, but some of the gnomes don't even have hauling in their proffession. No idea what they're trying to do, but it seems to lock up the carpenter until I change their profession. Cant even deconstruct the shop. Anyone else have any idea what's going on?

It's been way more than a year, and it's getting to be a joke. They keep posting updates about this "new content" they're putting in, but I've never seen any of it actually in the game. The game itself still seems like the same buggy, unplayable mess it was when they started. They needed to spend way more time on the core engine than in adding content and ad campaigns to sell copies at a rediculous price. Every month that goes by makes this look more and more like a scam. I want to be wrong here, but the devs have done nothing to prove me so.

I can't seem to download this at all anymore. Tried updating it and it crashed Desura, and then refused to recognize anything was installed. Now when I try to reinstall, it gets to 97% and gives me an error saying it lost server connection.

Ok. That may all be true, but it still begs the question, what's your point?
This is bringing the gameplay of DF to a crowd that may not have otherwise experienced it. I personally always found the ASCII graphics and obtuse UI of DF a major barrier to entry. This game removes those and makes it accessable to those like myself who could never get into DF, and to people who probably never even would have heard of it.
Claiming that just because something is a "clone" that it is automatically bad is ridiculous. Following that same logic, no one should ever drive anything but a Ford, because every other manufacturer just "cloned" the car.

I'm guessing he's getting the same bug I have been where you try to save (either through the menu or with F4) and the game crashes. I've had this problem for several versions now. Every patch seems to fix it, then after a short time, it starts up again. No idea what's causing it, but it makes me want to avoid a game I'd otherwise enjoy.

Is that what it is? Had it happen a few times now. Also I keep having games go un-loadable. Maybe the same thing.

The game starts fine, but once in all I see is a blurry image of my character on a blank blue space. I can move around and stuff, but nothing is rendering. Tried messing with the graphic levels, but nothing on any setting.

There's winter? I had no idea there were seasons in the game. XD

I think they can be permanently maimed too. I have one that hobbles around at a snails pace and passes out in the halls. =( No idea what the original injury was.

I thought my latest games was going great, no bugs at all...until I noticed that allo the plants in the world had stopped growing. Kind of a problem.

GAH! I want to play it so bad, but my games can only go for so long before they crash or go corrupt. XP Can't wait to see more patches!

I've had similar issues deselecting just about anything. The gnomes also refuse to use some stockpiles. Can't wait until the bugs are ironed out and it's out of alpha. Best DF style game I've ever seen.

Ok, my save just corrupted. So maybe there are some bugs to work out. XD

Pretty much unplayable in this state, but love the concept, and the tech seems to work besides the massive graphical foibles. Can't wait to see where this goes!

Scratch that. It's installed, but the .exe won't run. I attempt to open it, and simply nothing happens. :| Maybe I'll wait for the next version...

Aaaaand never mind! I tried it one more time just for fun, and it ran. Probably my 12th try or so. I love technology! XD

Double checked that Java is up to date, and it is. No, the installer doesn't even run. I try to run it, the mouse pointer changes to "thinking" or whatever for a moment, then....nothing. The pointer goes back to normal, and nothing happens. It just stops without opening a window of any kind.

I can't get this file to run. I start it, and it begins to run, then it just stops with mo message or error. Nothing open, nothing shows. It just dies.
