Day 3. Desert Horses.

Zed3D3 Blog

Hey,

Day 3 of my new Blogging Experience.

So, I finished reading my book on "Taming" in Mortal Online. Well, it still had 1 day (IRL) left of reading to do but I finished it at around level 60.

This means I can now tame just about anything, however, I had/have very low pet points so I couldn't (as a matter of fact) tame anything around level 30+. Although (somehow) I managed to tame a level 50 Mongrel Horse? That was interesting.

So yeah, I began taming Desert Horses and gaining higher level lores so I can eventually have around 3 desert horses following me (newly tamed ones) ready to be sold. I plan on selling them for 5 gold each and it's about a 20 minute trip there and back to get the horses... 1 silver to stable them. Is 14 gold 97 really worth the 20 minute time it takes? I would have thought so.

That's all I have today,

Cya!

Day 2. Zombies, Shooting & Building.

Zed3D3 Blog
I persue day two of my blog.

Today by Objective is to earn around 20 gold pieces on Mortal Online.
It's 300 Gold for a small house with no expansions in a city that's not guarded and has rival guilds (With fortresses!) Surrounding it. Or 500 Gold for a place that is guarded. So you get the idea of prices.

On a trip to Tin from Med, I can probably make around two gold. Maybe 1 1/2. I've had 3 before, but that was on a good day. Picking up Bor, Sea Dew, Finol and another crystal substance.

I found out I can tame mongrel horses (Up to level 25, no higher)! I expect when I get on it today i can go a little higher due to a higher taming level.

A few games I think you should look out for:

  • Planet Side 2
  • 0x10c
  • Castle Story
  • Class 3

I found out about these games through browsing online. I recently picked up a Gaming Magazine and they were all included excluding Castle Story. Which is great, because soon they're gonna be massive.

A small bit about the games from my own perspective.
Planet side 2. Planet side 2 , quite honestly, is phenomenal. I wouldn't have thought that the graphics would be too heavy, but I have to play low on my (very nice) PC to get around 40FPS. Time for a Graphics Card upgrade I think. But yeah, on Planet Side Two, You have a mix of vehicles and several classes. There are a lot of guns and upgrades that you can get. The Galaxy, a 12 man ship used for transporting infantry, is pretty large. I think a Upgrade you should get should be the ability to pick up and move Lightnings. And that brings me onto the next subject, Tanks. The Lightning is a small, fast tank that I don't really like. The tanks overall are a large help, but, infantry in their hundreds against a few tanks makes a tank seem like nothing. I remember going into a battlefield in a tank and there they were, about 12 (Only 12!) enemies standing there ready to fire their rocket launchers.

I got demolished.

0x10c. This game, no beta yet, looks even better than Planet side 2 (And I'd give Planet Side 2 a 8.5/10!) From what Notch ~ Creator of Minecraft ~ Has said about the game, I quite honestly think this is going to blow the games industry's minds.

Set the scene.

In a parallel universe where the space race never ended, space travel was gaining popularity amongst corporations and rich individuals. In 1988, a brand new deep sleep cell was released, compatible with all popular 16 bit computers. Unfortunately, it used big endian, whereas the DCPU-16 specifications called for little endian. This led to a severe bug in the included drivers, causing a requested sleep of 0x0000 0000 0000 0001 years to last for 0x0001 0000 0000 0000 years. It’s now the year 281 474 976 712 644 AD, and the first lost people are starting to wake up to a universe on the brink of extinction, with all remote galaxies forever lost to red shift, star formation long since ended, and massive black holes dominating the galaxy.

Does it sound interesting? Maybe it sounds extremely complicated.
From what I have read on the forums and looking at pictures, people will be getting into large groups (Army's!) and taking over planets to mine them of their riches, building the biggest and best spaceships possible. The spaceships are controlled by a computer, a 16 bit one that IS programmable. A lot of people on the community have began learning to program for the 16 bit computer to create Operating systems, Viruses, Anti viruses even! This means with the ores you mine, you'll smelt them down (A little like Minecraft I suppose) and create bits of ship to increase the size of your spaceship, or maybe to create new hardware.

Onto the next big thing about 0x10c.
The Generator.

Each ship has a generator capable of producing a fixed wattage, and everything you connect to it drains wattage. A cloaking field, for example, might require almost all the power from the generator, forcing you to turn off all computers and dim all lights in order to successfully cloak. The computer in the game is a fully functioning emulated 16 bit CPU that can be used to control your entire ship, or just to play games on while waiting for a large mining operation to finish.

This game, is seriously, SERIOUSLY going to be amazing. I have saved up my money & a new Graphics Card and Money to Purchase the game (Hopefully it will come out next year) has been prepared.

Castle Story.

Castle Story is a creative voxel-based strategy game in which you can build castles one brick at a time using an army of little characters called Bricktrons. Your goal will be to explore a vast landscape full of mysteries and dangers, and defend your castle against onslaughts of hostile creatures and possibly other players. The world of Castle Story takes place on flying islands, high above an infinite ocean. The islands are made of voxels, cubes made of various elements, which means you can dig, carve and build anything you can imagine in the landscape. Digging underground to gather resources, stacking bricks on top of each other to build a wall or even tunnelling through a mountain is all possible and even necessary to keep your Bricktrons safe.Carefully designing your castle not only requires creativity and imagination, but thanks to pathfinding AI and physics simulations, Castle Story has layers of strategy and depth on top of an otherwise free-form sandbox experience.Castle Story will be released for Windows & Mac (with possible Linux support once Unity4 is released).

  • Build any structure you can imagine! Using 2x1 blocks, create structures that are not only good-looking, but also functional. Your Bricktrons need to be able to navigate your castle to build it and to keep the monsters out!
  • Physics! Watch a tower crumble to the ground realistically when its foundations can no longer support it. The entire world obeys to the laws of physics which means that you need to build cleverly so your castle can withstand attacks from projectiles and explosives.
  • Sandbox! Build a huge sprawling fortress, a single impenetrable bunker or a network of underground tunnels. The choice is yours. Castle Storyrewards imagination and ingenuity.
  • Strategy! Command your Bricktrons as they build your castle brick by brick. Manage the way they work, what resources they gather, and the places they explore. Use your resources to build weapons and armor for your Bricktrons and all kinds of upgrades for your castle.
  • Combat! Using shields, swords, bows and lots more, your Bricktrons can defend themselves against the hostile creatures inhabiting the world ofCastle Story. Lead your Bricktrons through tough fights, and use your wits to gain an advantage. You can even build catapults to rain destruction on your foes!
  • Magic! The world of Castle Story is permeated with all kinds of magic. Discover resources with magical auras and learn to mix them to create effects. Explore strange places and find mysterious artifacts left behind by unknown civilizations.

This game, I have been following since the very start.
However I began to lose interest as lack of pictures and video's are produced.
But this game will be awesome. Check it out on youTube.

And Finally Class 3.
Supposedly going to be the most realistic Zombie Game ever created.
You will eat.
You will Drink.
You will kill.
You will build.

That's my way of summing the game up in 4 sentences.
So, what is this game about?
This game is being created by a company called "Undead Labs" Here's a little bit about the labs.

Undead Labs is a Seattle, Washington-based game development studio that’s on a mission to take online gaming in bold new directions. Our singular focus is to create the definitive zombie-survival game for gamers. Put your survival skills to the ultimate test and fight alongside friends to reclaim your world from the undead hordes. You know it’s not a question of if, but when. What will you do?Why zombies? Because living out our post-societal-collapse survivalist fantasies sounds like a blast. We’ve all watched zombie movies and thought, “What would I do?” Join us and find out! We’re going to make a game with the sweet action, streamlined interface, polish, and cooperative play that gamers expect. Then add to this the vast virtual world, global in-game community, and fun social dynamics of the best online worlds, and it’s pretty much a no-brainer!Undead Labs was formed in 2009 by MMO industry veteran Jeff Strain, with the goal of building a creative studio around the most talented — and zombie loving — developers in the industry. You can read all the details in the >> had to remove link! << .If you love zombies, have game development skills, and want to be part of this, we want to hear from you. Check out our >>jobs page<< (Sorry had to remove link!) to find out what it’s like to work at the Lab and browse through our current job openings.

So basically it's an incredibly realistic survival game.
Raid shops, find NPC's (non playable characters) to assist you on your journey.
Let's say, you're raiding a store to look for weapons, let's just say it's a hardware store. You find an engineer or someone random that has a something of use to you, a skill.

Now, an engineer will be able to help you build traps and such and such when you decide to build your fortress to hold off the ever coming zombie's.

This game is going to be freeroam, this game is going to be awesome.

To sum it up, I would consider investing in these games if you have a bit of spare cash!

That's all for today. G'day.

Zed3D3 Blog
Well...
Hello!

I'm Zed. I'm a wanna-bee Games Programmer and I really hope for that dream to come true!
I am going to start blogging (possibly daily?) with interesting shit. And yeah, I know this one isn't interesting - but hey, we'll build on it. We will.

So, I am prepared to dedicate my life to Gaming and Programming. At the moment I code in HTML, CSS and PHP. I know the HTML and CSS is easy, but the PHP certainly has a few things that I find hard.

After I finish my courses and I can program in C++ and Java (I've began a fair bit of both so far) I'm going to go on a job hunt for a small games development company and live my dream. Who knows? I might be developing the best game to come (ever!).

At the moment I'm playing: Mortal Online.

Mortal Online is an awesome Sandbox game where you can do just about anything... The setting is absolutely beautiful and the way that you can see the mountains in the distance is just phenomenal.
I haven't achieved a lot on the game as I've only been playing for a few days, but it's going well!
There's quite literally a skill for everything. You'll be running around and your breathing skill will increase.
Your constantly gaining skills.

I have to say the graphics don't suit me. I'm used to playing Games which have a much higher detail amount. On MO, you have detail on things around you for about 2 meters. If that makes sense? The rest is blurry but I think it goes quite well.

I make my money through picking up Bor and other useful items, selling them to NPC's. I tend to pick it on the route from Tindrem to Mer-thingy. That's right, I don't even know the names of some places. But hey, it's just south of Tindrem.

I successfully tamed a Donkey yesterday! Infact, I tamed two. I know right?

So to conclude, I'm going to start blogging about my adventures of gaming. I'm setting up a YouTube account to do Gaming Reviews. Inc. Mods.

G'day! :D
