@dbl
to control the hooks I think just firing and retracting them is needed. they don't need to be aimed separately, you position yourself how you would normally aims and use the strafing to pendulum yourself on the hooks

if clicking in the sticks on a controller isn't suitable then I think double taps on the roll buttons is fine I don't think anyone would have problems holding them to roll, double tapping to hook/release, and holding after double tapping to retract ( somewhere between the 3d manoeuvre gear and the GiTS Tachikoma cables)

this game is very close to being a beautiful experience to play

I will post some usuage specs but it still seems a lot slower than in the videos, regardless of which render mode is being used.

I am running 64bit Win 7 with an i5 (I think) 4GB ram, and some dx11 nvidia laptop chip set

I'll have another big session and be sure to post a review!

only managed 6k so far I think I'll get there soon

as for controls we'll you can only aim them together with your cross hair so I'm thinking
pad - click thumbsticks to fire each independently hold/press+hold retract it and draw you in, click again release
keyboard - same but with the roll buttons

also strafing I think should be a double press with the direction and hold to continue. up and down mapped to pad buttons feels too weird and I keep forgetting. your thumbs should be on the sticks at all times or as much as possible

also can we get a few optimisation options in the settings please? my laptop isn't too crappy but it seems a lot slower than in the videos

I'll check though and post some videos

"...vital points based mechanichs, as in Lost Planet or Shadow Of The Colossus itself, also involving breakable parts,.."

breakable parts which can float around slowly to be used for grapple surfaces?? ;)

please include the grappling hook. I was thinking maybe clicking the analogous sticks brings up the l&r grapple reticles. release to fire. strafing etc to gin momentum. would be awesome to 'orbit' a titan by grappling and releasing over and over as you strafe in a big circle.

I actually thought in the banner image there's a ship with the grapple on.

one note though. with a controller and 100% sensitivity the right stick seems still slow :S

Been smashing through the series "attack on titan"...

PLEASE add side mounted grapplling hooks to get up close and personal (if fast!) to that lovely abstract scenery
