Been a little while since I commented or reported anything about the game. I just wanted to say that I have loved all the changes you have made to the game since my review. It is so much more polished now, and simply a blast for me and those I have shown it too. thanks again for the project, its refreshing to play one of my favorite Genre's of RPG again :D

Complete run :D I am posting them up on youtube, and playing them occasionally on twitch. I will admit, I laughed when I "found my dignity", thought it was a clever joke :D
The Random nature of the enemy spawns in the first level are killer man... lol
Lots of Restarts.

(oh I noticed that I really don't take that much damage through my playthroughs. Do the armor powerups exclusively give you more hits? Might be why I am not noticing.)

Great that the update finally went through :D Game feels much more complete now, and the changes allow for more risk to be taken in regards to my speed run :D I managed to get the game beat in under 23 minutes now. Looking forward to the "new mode".

Any possibility of getting a run down on what exactly the armor powerups do? I have been experimenting and I still cannot figure out what the benifits are of getting the parts.

As I said, don't want to come off as a sore loser, or a complainer. I love this game, it just seemed to be impossibly punishing to a player in an an unfair fashion due ot the randomimzed loot and pounding enemies instead of poor player planning. (I got slaughtered in an area I was wrecking by one random fight that was unwinnable every time it appeared.)

Let me start by saying that I am loving this game. But I do have one complaint.

My very first party, I managed to get past the first "boss" the knight.
My second party that I am conducting a LP of the game with, I managed to beat the Knight.

But every single party (with about 7 different combinations of characters), I have done since I have not been able to defeat the knight. I hate to sound like a complainer, but with the loot being randomized, and there being a limit to level 3 characters by the time you face the knight, the knight just simply kicks too much ***.

His smite evil is able to kill most of the character classes (including the scorcer) in one hit even with the characters having a defense of 12. I have managed to do well over 300 damage to him consistently and by that point I have one character left standing after using 3 potions, and 4 resurrection crystals to buy time.

Now I am playing the game on hardcore, so I fully expect a challenge. With the LP game, it is VERY challenging and I am loving it. But that first boss (considering the lack of ability to farm or properly prepare for the fight due to the random factors) seems to be WAY WAY WAY WAY too over powered, becoming more frustrating than challenging since it has literally stonewalled any possibility for victory unless I manage to find the right items and pick the right characters.

The only party of characters I managed to beat the boss with was "Sorc, Werewolf, Cultist,Shadow" and "Sorc, Werewolf, Witch, Shadow". Is this game still being worked on balance-wise? Or is it a final form?

First question is, where can I get the updated version since I bought the game via Desura?

Second, the game runs VERY slow for most of the game, the space ship stages run at normal speed, but soon as you are walking around its like the game is moving in slow motion till the boss sequences or certian portions of the stage that have a lack of action. Is this fixed in the new versions? Do you plan on fixing this or was this an intended design?

Third, There are numerous spaces in the game where you can actually get stuck jumping and walking around. I have not been able to replicate hardly any of them so its difficult for me to really expect much out of the world EXCEPT, the last boss fight (stage 5). When you walk over to the door and duck, you get frozen in place and have to spam jump and turn around and fire numerous times to dislodge yourself. I have had the same issue when I tried to jump over the mech's kick attack I get stuck up in the air, this only happens over at the door, and it happens enough that it cripples the last fight (if you are not paying attention to where not to stand.)

Fourth, I just noticed that a previous commenter mentioned the mini-boss leading up to the stage 5 boss. And you mentioned its already fixed :D.

fifth, I have been trying to play as Balzac's story, but it does not seem to be any different than hardcore mode. Am I missing something?

Sixth, every time I fully beat the game (the final stage as soon as I defeat the boss), the game crashes. I am not sure if you have seen this or not and I will screenshot, or just write up the error for you if needed.

Again, I loved the game, and plan on attempting some speedruns of it now that I can beat it without dying :D Its a whole lot of fun, and I am excited to get an updated version that will hopefully fix some of the issues. I understand its in beta right now, and I just wanted to say thanks a bunch for the very enjoyable game.

The fact that you have given me many many hours of quality game time in your 0.1.0 alpha is already good, you don't need to promise me anything. I will be excited to see new potential stuff on the horizon, and very welcoming of any of those additions that do finally make it through :D

Is it possible to use "important rooms" as a spawnable thing that are based on individual dungeon objectives? All the dungeons currently have "kill all the monsters" objectives. If you could add find the object, or seal the lair, or assassinate the boss kinda objectives, you could then start adding "key rooms" that can randomly spawn on a floor that would allow for you to make some custom tailored settings per room. An example being, the dungeon has many hallways, but then it spawns the "well of destruction room" Here the party has to utilize a key item that spawned somewhere in the dungeon "The coin of salvation" to drop it in the well and seal the "lair" that was spawning monsters. Limiters can be that the coin and the well have to spawn at least 1 to 2 floors away from each other.

Thus far the random generation seems solid, I have yet to run into a dungeon that did not spawn a path to a monster so I have been able to complete every single dungeon. The multi-party dungeons were very interesting :D That would be super neat to incorporate things like, "Party 1 finds key to gate on floor 2" "Party 1 deposits key into a chut" "The key then ends up on floor 1 and is now accessible to party 2" "Party 2 takes the key and opens the gate allowing them access to the full first floor of the dungeon"

Eeesh... this would get complicated quick in terms of a random generator. lol

Most definitely enjoyed the game. No need to apologize over typos, its a super trivial thing to deal with especially when you get the rest of the content you had mentioned on the website and stuff implimented.

Its really refreshing to see more games like this. By chance, is "Complex quests and dungeons" going to involve some interesting item manipulation and puzzle solving like "legend of Grimmrock" or "Eye of the Beholder"? I had figured stuff like that could happen when "key dungeons" spawn rather than the arbitrary random dungeons.

Or does the engine you have built currently not accomodate that kinda detail?

Hope my review is not too rough. I am really excited to see the progress this game makes over its development. Thanks a bunch for what is shaping up to be a very engaging dungeon crawler. After my Twitch Stream (posted to Youtube in 30 minute sections if you would like links I can provide them) I have to admit that I am hooked on the game. Its alot of fun even with the issues I do have with it, big props.

Yes, I did figure that out, and broke each one. It was my suspicion that the eggs had either spawned a spider in the elevator, the floor, or a wall. I was hoping you may have seen this happen before. Might show up again some time when I am recording a new video for the game on youtube. Not sure what to do to replicate the issue.

I wanted to report, I got to the big spider boss, and it seems to cause a problem where the boss fight is unbeatable. I am not sure if it spawns spiders OUT of the room or IN the elevator, but something is still living after I kill everything. I have done this twice and had the same result. Just wanted to report in if this was a bug.

I can see it working, but the layouts for the rooms would have to be adjusted and probably enlarged. Monsters could scale in durability based on how many members join, and I would probably not allow more than 4 players. Loot in the game could be adjusted in the vein of Killing floor's "dosh system" where players can toss their coins out to others, and the shops would just have to be adjusted to accomodate. Could work :D That is all based on my personal lack of understanding of the coding your team has to work with.

Got another question too. What qualifies this as horror? I completely understand "balls to the walls action" or something relative to that. But I did not see much in terms of horror, unless those features will be implimented later.

Just curious, keep up the good work :D

I have a question,

I downloaded this last month, and just played it today. If the game has multiple endings cool ,but I got to a point where I experienced a "too be continued". Do I have an outdated version? Cause I thought it was a little wierd and re-installed the game, now I am being given an error in regards to "expansion pack" that will not allow me to even try the game again.

Any news?

I am enjoying the experience very much, but for some reason the game is consistantly crashing when certain "BIG" haunting moments happen. Is this something that is happening frequently to others, or do I need to tweak some settings to have a smoother experience? Having to restart the game every time from the second day is a bit jarring, but I will admit, its been a different day each time :D

Hey thanks for the response, I have kept this sucker installed hoping that I would get one :D I will turn that off and see if that helps.

Not sure if its my settings, but I found this to be completely unplayable. It started off good, the mood was great, and even my first encounter was actually threatening, but then my sanity started failing by the time I hit the lantern. And from that point about 5 minutes of walking was me with so much motion blur that it wasn't scary anymore, since I couldn't distinguish darkness from the walls around me. And then when an actual encounter would happen, the motion blur would be so intense that it would look like the game crashed.
There was one encounter that forced my character to fall over, and when I stood up, the motion blur was all gone after I lit the lantern again, and then the game went back to being creepy, but then my sanity started failing yet again, and the copius amounts of motion blur returned, where I eventually had an actual hostile encounter that literally beat the crap out of me while I was unable to move or see anything that was happening. My vision locked up in literally ONE frame, and barely had the slightest hints of change as the motionblur forced a full graphic lock down.

Is there a setting I need to tweak in amnesia to get this mod to work proper? Because from what I could see without the motion blur, this is an experience I would like to actually play, but as of right now, its actually unplayable.
