Traveler-59 Web Weaver (Omnivault Commission) image - WhiteDragon25

Well, long time no see, eh? Anyways, this here is a custom-made unit brainstormed by yours truly, and put onto paper by the wonderful artist Omnivault, a friend of mine on deviantART.

I came up with this idea months ago, for a new Scrin vehicle for Traveler-59. Continuing with their motifs of mind-control tech and subversion tactics, the Web Weaver is based off T59's Prodigy commando. Repurposed from failed Prodigy experiments, the Web Weaver is designed to attack enemy infantry via throwing its own spawn, which attach themselves ala facehuggers to human soldiers, and transform them into Cultist units under Traveler-59 control.

Visually speaking, the design inspiration comes from the Joltik/Galvantula Pokemon line (which is ironic, since I *really* hate spiders). Incidentally, I also played with the idea of continuing the Galvantula inspiration by giving the Web Weaver an Electroweb-like ability as well.

Conceptual inspiration also came from old Westwood concept art for a CABAL unit called the Puppet Master which functioned in much the same way I described above.
