It's maybe that the giant slab of metal I hesitate to call a mantlet is interlocking and not welded to the thing.
Although an oscillating turret would be pretty sweet.

It's a cheaper and more reliable design that allow for bigger guns. Putting a gun in a turret has a bunch of disadvantages ; it makes the vehicle much more flexible but it also has some negative effects on combat performances.
