I'll be uploading newer updates to White Day here (newest version currently v16.1) from a different account ('aiyume'). I understand Windows 10 is causing all sorts of issues and I'm here to suss them out.

v16.1 should fix most issues, but v16.2 is also on the way.

Thanks everyone

Oh and the reason I'm using a different account is because I couldn't remember my login details for this one, and gave up. Turns out I remembered it after all but I'm just gonna commit to my new one now :|

Current affairs:
Sorry for the lack of updates - It's tedious work that I've seemed to lose interest in again... After I've gone through all the dialogues till the end of the game I do intend on finally letting go of this. I will stay as active as I can, even after that.

I'd also like to remind people that the work I've done evidently doesn't make White Day perfect; if I haven't found fixes for the bugs people are still having, I likely never will.

It seems unfinished, but playing it for the first time, I had never seen a game with *more bugs*. Back then, I would actually be surprised if any more than 5% of gamers intending to play it even got to Chapter 3, let alone the end.

So if anyone's eagerly awaiting the next update, please bear with me! It's on its way.

The same person (me) is still doing it. I just decided to do it personally rather than under a pseudo-company's name. v16 emcompasses all previous changes in versions I've made since v1.

Open up White Day and load a save or start a new game. Press the Grave key while you're in-game (if you don't know what key that is, open this: I.imgur.com).
If cheat mode is on, a console will open where you can type in commands. If it's off, nothing will happen.

If cheat mode is on, then you should find that the launcher says so when you start the game:
I.imgur.com
Just set it to 'off'.

If that doesn't change anything when you start the game again, go to your White Day folder in 'C:\Program Files (x86)\WHITEDAY' and move 'WhiteDay.dll' to a different location.
Then rename 'WhiteDay_p4.dll' to 'WhiteDay.dll'.
Then rename the 'WhiteDay.dll' file you just moved out of the folder, to 'WhiteDay_p4.dll', and put it back in the folder, essentially swapping the files.

If you find cheat mode is off, then it's a different problem entirely :0
In which case, Mediafire.com
Download that and try putting that in your White Day folder. Please note that it will make a bug appear in the New Building where an enemy that appears in some classrooms on the ceiling will throw you out of the map. This is a bug that had existed on all versions before v16.

Cheat mode tends to cause crashes like these - Are you sure it's off?

Ah yeah I've known about it since the start. I haven't found a fix for it, and I've never played a version of White Day that didn't have it sadly.

This isn't actually a bug, all versions are like this. Just hit the Esc key.

You shouldn't need to manually launch anything with Korean locale. WhiteDay - Start.exe should open white day with the correct locale automatically. It still needs applocale installed to do it of course haha

As for your actual question - that's normal don't worry. Don't be afraid to ask me any more questions :)

No problem :) but you should find the bug is fixed in this version.

A fix has been found! And just in time too. You can thank 'hgdagon' for this :)

Will do.

I initially thought it was possible in v16, but it seems that the only way to fix that bug is to use the console patch's .dll files - but the issue there is that they cause frequent crashes; especially when going from one level to the next.

The console patch is provided with the game in WHITEDAY\console\Cheat Patch, so I suppose that playing White Day without the bug at all would mean you'd have to stop and save when Chapter 3 starts, replace the .dlls, and continue playing. Then when you unlock the doors for Chapter 4, instead of going through to Chapter 4, save in the toilets, close White Day, restore the .dlls, then continue playing so that you can access Chapter 4 without a crash and complete the game.

Other than that, there's no way to fix it as of yet. Sorry!

I will upload it as soon as it's ready, but I'm aiming for June 30th at the very latest.

Good idea; I'll contact the person who first uploaded this on moddb and get it changed.

Oohhh, those - I've not found a way to fix that unfortunately. I didn't look too much into it either because it wasn't exactly 'game breaking', but fixing something like that seems to be as deep as those untranslated single lines (like the clay doll in main building area 2). Sadly I doubt that's going to receive a fix, and anyone is welcome to try.

As for the text in Room 2-5 (and the text for those boxes in general), that will be fixed in v16.

I run the game in 16:9 (1366x768) and I don't experience any text breaking issues... I've never heard of this being a problem either - I take it the resolution is 1080p, could you send a screenshot?

Ah... I would if I could but I am not the original creator. I do not have access to every file in this game so unfortunately I cannot modify it to that extent.

They are false positives. It most likely has to do with the fact that the registry is being modified to make the game run properly, and probably the programs that run using batch scripts. The installer itself also uses a program called Clickteam installer creator, which AVs might find suspicious.

I'm considering re-doing the whole thing in a different environment somewhere in the future if this becomes a big problem, but until then this is completely safe.

No registry is modified outside of "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sonnori". "WhiteDay - Start.exe" is the program that manipulates these registry entries, as well as the installer itself. If you want more details just message me.

It's been a while.

Just came by to say that I'm going to bring out a v16 unofficially at some point. I will be making some major changes to the dialogues and notes throughout the game so that things seem much more natural, and hopefully fix the ceiling ghost bug permanently.

Sorry if that was rather sudden. Some good news is that I have a potential fix for the horrendous bug in the New Building with the girl on the ceiling, and I believe that I have the multi-player mod (Oh!jaemi) working to an extent for v15.9.
