Grain War: Managing the Team

uheartbeast Blog

Today I created quite a few git issues on my repository to help keep me focused while I'm working on the game.

I'm working towards an early alpha release by March 14... That's going to be pushing it.

I've hired my musician and the guy is brilliant. He's already started writing and I'll be sure and post some of his tunes here as he finishes them.

I should be posting some images here soon of the enemy attacking and the player using a special attack.

Grain War

So I've been hard at work this week on a Shader World spin off project called Grain War. The game is inside the Shader World Universe and will have gameplay like the child of Link to the Past and Risk of Rain. Today I finally finished all the animations for running, dodging, standing, and attacking for the player. I also finished the standiing and running animations for the first enemy in all four directions.

Needless to say I learned quite a bit about animation. I've never been a pro but I'm happy with the way these turned out. I really like the dodge animation for dodging right.

Here is a taste. :) Tell me what you think.

Remake of my First Game

uheartbeast Blog

Because of college, and my total lack of time for working on major game design projects, I have decided to remake the first game that I ever built (That I truly finished). I haven't had much time to work on it but since the main part of the programming is already done I'm actually quite far into the project and I'm going to be expounding on it a little.

It's been fun to see how far I have come since building the game the first time. Here is a screenshot of some of my work on the remake:
NPC?
The original game was Called Deep Magic and can be found here: Deep Magic

College

Man, college is killing my game development juices... can you kill juice? Anyway, I've got finals week this week and so I haven't worked on my project at all. It makes me a little sad inside.

On the flip-side though, I should be able to do quite a bit of work on it next week because I will be done with this semester.
