Garry's Mod is a Mod. It says so in the title. So, if Garry's Mod is a full game, how does a full game like "Garry's Mod" require another game (example: Half-Life 2) to play it? But it has the word 'Mod' in it's own title. So, how can a full game require you to buy another game, not consider itself a mod, but still have mod in the title? Sounds like a load of fecal matter unloaded from a herd of pigs to me. Anyways - I'm usually lurking around here on ModDB. Checking for anything decent, whether it be a mod, a save file, or something else. If you are one visiting my profile to either bash me, or inquire about the Walkway Maze map, please visit, and play some of these fine mods: Nightmare House 2 1187 Sven Co-op Half-Life 2 Wars They Hunger Go-Mod Median XL Afraid of Monsters: Director's Cut I'm sure I missed some, but I personally recommend them to anyone that has the game th play them. Anyhow, bash me in the comments area below, otherwise, enjoy yourself.

Walkway Maze & Other Things

TrashCan-Man23 Blog

For those of you that like to be reading up on my blog, or wondering about my Walkway Maze save, here's some updates for you all:

First off I'll be uploading what I have of Walkway Maze. Played some of it throughout the pre-releases. Maybe you'll enjoy some of the new buildings, maybe you won't. As long as you find the few TNT stacks that are available, and love blowing shit up, well hopefully you'll get a bit of enjoyment out of it.

With all that said and done - I don't know about you all, but I'm loving some of these Pre-releases - some I hate more than others cause it makes Minecraft just plain unplayable. Crashing every 2 minutes while traversing the Nether. Pretty fucking irritating.

But besides that, been playing with the potions, enchanting, and animal breeding (those of you in the MC Community group might have noticed the MC chicken orgy picture that I uploaded a while back), and I gotta say, it's been pretty enjoyable. It's something Minecraft desperately needed, was more features, and that is what it got. It does need more content from what is currently in the game, but aside from that complaint - I'm loving it. It's been much more enjoyable experience playing Minecraft with the release of the Adventure update compared to the pain-staking experience back in 1.7.3.

Sure some of you may disagree, but I gotta say - I like the direction Minecraft is going.

And if any of you are still reading this up to this point - thanks for taking the time to read this blog post.

Walkway Maze Beta 5 Uploaded

TrashCan-Man23 Blog 1 comment

Go under the addons in my profile and download it now - leave your thoughts on it in comments.

Oh and be sure to look inside the Sandstone Pyramid - pretty damn big shroom farm.

I haven't added much of anything to the Walkway itself, but to make up for it - I've been working on this Bookshelf block pyramid, so don't you virtual pyromaniac's worry about one thing - at least you can torch that sucker down.

Hope you enjoy it, and keep tuned for the next upload.

Walkway Maze Beta 5 Uploaded & Some thoughts/reviews.

TrashCan-Man23 Blog

That's right, Walkway Maze Beta 5 is uploaded, all It needs now is the authorization, and you'll all be able to play it.

If you're having trouble finding where to download it (once it gets through the approval), just check under my "Addons" in my profile here.

Not a whole huge bunch of changes to the maze itself, but there are a few more structures added to the map itself. Check the description part for more details, once you're at the download.

--------------------------------------

You know, people of ModDB, most of this aimed at the Minecraft Community on here - What the hell is it with people uploading these "Dirt House" structures? They say they took 'so many' weeks to complete some such 'n such structure that is only comparable to a dirt house. Take for example, one of the latest uploads to the Minecraft Group page. I believe the title of the upload is labelled as "castle," yet it's this dinky little piece of crap square structure built with either stone / cobblestone, hardly any effort put into it, i mean, what the hell. Might as well have slapped down dirt blocks in random places and call it a damn cathedral. At least put some bit of effort into it.

Speaking of effort, I had checked out this "Bank Vault" upload, I forget whether it was uploaded to the MC group or main page on here. Pretty nice, but I have to say, was somewhat confusing. Interesting on what you can do with redstone. Which reminds me, there was a video out there of someone that "remade" this one Queen song using a boat load of redstone, circuits, and noteblocks. That was pretty cool.

That's all for now folks!

Walkway Maze - Beta 5

TrashCan-Man23 Blog

Keep a sharp lookout, going to be uploading another update of the one and only Walkway Maze probably sometime in the next two weeks.

Why such a long time?

Well if you haven't been paying attention to the MC community group, I'm building a gigantic pyramid.
Not just some regular run-of-the-mill pyramid, but something so ridiculous, that it's ending up to be extremely time consuming. And since I don't use any sort of editor, mostly cause I think it's cheating (but that's a topic for another time), it's going to take a while to finish.

Besides this pyramid that I'm building, I still have yet to figure out how / what to add to the maze, if I should start extending out underground (I'm very reluctant to do this, for fear of encountering lava), all things / ideas of that sort.

I hate sugar cane, paper, and books.

TrashCan-Man23 Blog

Yeah you read that right. I hate them...on Minecraft. You know why? Cause I'm in the process of building a huge hollow pyramid completely out of Bookcase blocks. And making a stack of books is just a pain - too much clicking. Personally instead of getting just one book for every click on the area where you're picking up your resulting crafted item (I don't blame you if you're lost at this point, but if you understand, thanks for hangin in there...) I kinda wish it would give you something like a multiple number of books depending on the number of paper.

You know the current recipe of course is 3 paper in a column will result up in a book. 3 stacks of paper (each stack of paper is equal to 64) results in 64 books, but you have to keep on clicking each single resulting book to get your full stack of books.

My proposal, would be something like this:
Change the output of books equal to the number of papers you input.
So, if you input your 3 stacks of papers - then your output would be one fat pile of books you can cleanly pick up, no clicking the mouse button 64 times.

Yes, it would be nice.

Oh, and a protip about Wood for Minecraft fans out there, or newer players - If you like to chop down bunches of the white tree (birch i think it's called), remember this: you can get at least 5 wood blocks from one tree, and at the most 5 saplings at one tree. You can plant those (in this case, I'll use 5) 5 saplings, get 5 wood blocks from each of those trees - the number is exponential. And, besides the huge lumber intake, you can also use that wood to make (practically, there is no end) an infinite supply of charcoal to fuel your furnaces and make as many torches as you need.

Good luck, and be sure to check out my Walkway Maze download for Minecraft (it's under addons, if you didn't know this).

Minecraft (aka Minecrack)

TrashCan-Man23 Blog

So I happened to have a chance to play this game, and let me say, it is awesome.

If you get a chance, purchase it, play the free creative mode on the minecraft website, or even obtain the game by other methods. Definitely worth checking out.

And don't let the pixel-graphics bother you, that's all part of the Minecraft-magic (yeah, I know, sounds cheesy).

And let me say, I'd be willing to bet Minecraft will be among all those classic games that will be played years and years after it's released. Just as the classic Doom games are still played, Duke Nukem 3D, Super Mario, all of those classics.

Here's some links to help you out, should you get the urge to check out Minecraft:

Minecraft Home Page
Minecraft.net

Minecraft Wiki
Minecraftwiki.net

Also, watch out for idiots that look to label you as a griefer in multiplayer creative mode. Destroy even a single block on their building, and they will go berserk. It's amusing, though, if you consider doing it.

Gmod 9 & Median stuff & other junk

TrashCan-Man23 Blog

So I went and played a few online rounds on the limited servers that are available for Gmod 9. Pretty interesting, if only there was more action in the particular server I was playing in. I'd imagine doing something on the lines of spawning a load of monsters and take 'em all on - probably something on the lines of "Rambo-style".

Besides that, I went and played some more of that Median XL mod - created a throwing assassin. I must say, it's pretty difficult in the beginning if you decide to first start off with using the throwing weapon. Personally, for me, it was super easy starting off using the melee THEN switching my skills over to the throwing skills. Oh yeah, that is how you do it - if you play D2 1.13. Although, it does burn one out after they just leveled another assassin (since I just leveled a melee-build assassin).

Speaking of Median XL, BrotherLaz just released the latest patch, 1.Z9 - go and download it, there have been a good bunch of improvements.

Before I finish this up, I'd like to mention a Half-Life mod that is still in the making - and if you own Half-Life, you MUST check this mod out. This mod I'm talking about is "Cry of Fear." It looks just amazing.

Some random crap goes here.

TrashCan-Man23 Blog

Hm...so I finally got around to playing Nightmare House 2. Pretty fun mod, reminds me of FEAR in its own ways. Even I was surprised to have jumped at some part, it actually scared me for a second. When that sort of thing happens, and its just at the beginning...raises your expectations pretty high for the rest of the game time.

Oh and I checked out Garry's Mod 9. Pretty interesting little mod there - reminds me of back in my childhood, when I was crazy about Legos. Hell, and even setting up battles - one of them being a bunch of combine vs. a bunch of the big antlions. I forget their name, but what the hell, who really cares. Surprised that it was pretty fun for the half hour I played.

Let's see...for those that still play Diablo II, Median XL just released a new update.

Damnit, where's the vodka at when you need it?

Got me Far Cry the other day. Good game. It's too bad they implemented a checkpoint system, rather than the player being able to quick save. I tell ya, Ubisoft (or whoever developed it) can suck a big one for making that mistake. Makes you wonder if they ever looked at Doom 3, or Half-Life when they were making it. Probably thinking they were going to be "different" and put a checkpoint system. Checkpoint system in a FPS game can suck my hairy nut sack. That is all.

Well you all have yourselves a fine time out there on Moddb.

P.S. -

Black Mesa Source needs to release already, damnit. Oh well. Have fun lurking.

Mods Worth Downloading

TrashCan-Man23 Blog

Alright, here's a list of some of my more favorite mods that are worth downloading - you go ahead and check them out if you want to, I don't care if you don't like them. If you don't like them, don't tell me, keep it to yourself, I don't need the attention-getting bullshit posted up on here.

Anyways, here we go...

Nightmare House 2 (HL2 Ep2 Mod)
Half-Life Redux
Earth's Special Forces (HL1 Mod, if you think im talking about the source, you're an idiot for asking)
Median XL (Diablo II LoD)
Overheid (HL2, can't remember if it's Ep2 or original.)
Ruiner (Doom 3 mod)
1187: Episode One (HL2, either original or Ep2 - it's a fucking awesome mod.)
Go-Mod (Goldsrc Engine sandbox mod - aka Half-Life, etc)

There's some others, but those are the one's that I can think of at the moment. Check out some of my watch list (if you are able to do so), to check out some other mods I have listed. And remember, before even making some dumbass comment, these are good mods in my own point of view (opinion).

And I leave off with one last bit - Fuck people who think Garry's mod is a full game. You're a fucking idiot. After all, It's called a mod, a mod requires a whole other game to run it, thus is the reason why it is called Garry's "MOD". Don't be a fucking douche.

Other than that, I wouldn't pay $10 for a mod.
As most people will hear other's say:
"Fuck that shit."

Hope you enjoy some of these mods as I have enjoyed them.

PS - I don't hate Garry's Mod. I hate the fact of having to pay for a mod. I also hate the fact that people call it a 'stand-alone game'. It's retarded when someone says that type of comment.

Garry's Mod, aka 'Gmod'

TrashCan-Man23 Blog

Learn to read the text, you dumbass twats. You whom are the load your mother should have swallowed. That's right, you read that last line correctly.

Garry's mod is a mod. It is not a fully functional PC game. A fully functional PC game doesn't require you to have a whole other game installed.

Let's see my points of argument here:
- Garry's mod page up here on ModDB has this sentence right at the top:
"Garry’s Mod is a sandbox mod for the Source Engine."
- If Garry's mod is a fully functional PC game, then i should be able to play it without owning a single Source engine game, right?
- Garry's mod has mod in its' own title.
- Garry's mod REQUIRES a Source Engine game to even be able to LOAD.
- Garry's mod is not a full game, because it REQUIRES a SOURCE ENGINE game to LOAD.
- Just like any other mod, a mod requires a certain game, engine to be able to run.
An example: 'They Hunger' mod for Half-Life. 'They Hunger' is not a "fully functional" PC game. It, just like Garry's mod, is a fucking mod. 'They Hunger' requires Half-Life to be able to play it.

Last but most certainly not least:

- Garry's mod is a mod.
