I'm a college student and indie developer bent on gaining the skills I need to make my dream games a reality. School was not doing much for me so I decided to teach myself, and so far I'm learning a lot more this way. Check out everything I do at www.yotesgames.com
My name is Anthony Pendley (A.K.A. Tony Yotes) and I have this crazy dream of being an indie developer straight out of college. I was born October 28, 1993 and the last couple of decades have shaped me into a game designer. I believe in experience over formal education and as of August 2013, I will never work another day in my life. From here on I will make games for a living, which for me isn't a job, but a series of fun projects.
During my freshman year at college I taught myself the magical art of mobile game development and am currently making 5 simple games to build the experience I need in order to make my dream game (a huge action RPG) a reality. I hope to begin work on my dream game next August, and I hope to found an indie game studio with my friends when I graduate in 2016.
Yotes Games exists to make games that are fun to develop, and fun to play. Yotes Games are games that simply make people smile. The industry is crowded with suits looking only to increase revenue and they lose the creative human element that spawns great titles and tight communities. Yotes Games is here to show the world that work can be fun instead of being a draining grind and also prove that ambitious dreams are worth chasing.
It doesn't matter where you came from, whether you have formal education or not, or what tools you have. If you love making games and have any means of doing so, just get started. Practice your talent. Sharpen it. Because you are already a game designer. You just need to make something to prove it to yourself.
