Figured I'd share this since I figured it out after some experimentation. Since this negates the use of the launcher, if you want to adjust the unit size settings then add the following to the *top* of the user.script

Large size: mod "_GreatWar5_DB_LargeScale.pack";

Normal: No change

Tactical: mod "_GreatWar5_DB_SmallScale.pack";

FFS people it's a post about the UI in a medieval game mod... Why do you always have to make things political?

My savegame was played with "tactical" unit sizes, but loading it this way sets it back to default. The settings file has UnitScale=0, do you know what I would need to set this as to get back to tactical size?

I've downloaded this three times from here and once from Nexus, and everytime I try to unpack the download it gives me a "write error in the file". Any ideas?

Any fix for the "Monster Hand Bone" issue?

Why are cannons still so worthless in sieges? Is it a game issue? It's almost pointless doing sieges now because they can't do anything to fortresses

I would say leave it as is. Part of what I love about NTW3 is the slower pace, and this capitalizes on it too. Sorry if it's boring, but it's realistic having short ranges and low accuracy for infantry, clumsy formations, and a higher emphasis on pre-battle planning and maneuver for a 18th century game.

If there was any way to create varations of a single unit, it would be cool to see some Rogatywka caps on the Poles. Not many had them, but it was a distinctive Polish look

I am at a loss for words... This is my favorite front of the war and to see it represented so brilliantly and accurately is remarkable. I've been a fan of this franchise since Verdun beta testing, and I remain one of your biggest supporters

Agreed. So many of the units in the game have small variations that could be made (take Bavarian units for example) that just wouldnt be worth the effort.

Amazing news! I was wondering if it was possible after I saw Pike & Shot change some models to add 17th century ships

Are emergent factions like this using some generic "rebel" units, or units from their "parent" faction?

I researched and wrote the unit descriptions, faction descriptions, and events for the Great War mod for NTW. I'd be happy to help do the same for you here if you wanted.

I was curious if there was any way to add unit descriptions for players to get some background on some of the more interesting units in the mod. I worked with the Great War team for Napoleon Total War to do this, and it was a fun addition for historical background. It would be a big task, but maybe just start with a few. Id be happy to help, just send me a message and we can figure it out.

Not sure either. It seemed like the ACW mod for ETW had longer times than vanilla, but that was probably a result of the Warpath DLC, not the mod.

Made me think about town damage as well. Annoying as it would be, what if you increased the repair time for structures to better replicate the devastation of towns or cities near the frontline. One brief siege of Belgrade, for example, would leave damage that could be repaired cheaply in a turn or two. But a back-and-forth battle for Reims wpuld leave every building at a very low level, taking far longer to repair; sort of a perpetual state of damage (and thus smoking campaign buildings) in active combat zones

Is the movement range reduced too? Id hate to see a single breakthrough lead to a total collapse before more troops can be raised.

Maybe a stretch, but the French 75mm was known for its high rate of fire, and it was definitely a widely produced and used piece. Maybe a slight boost to artillery cost and rate of fire?

Or even buildings (like armories, etc) that troops can enter, but made to look like a concrete fort wall

Is that how the deployable trenches will look in battles too? I love the ladder especially. Also just curious if fort maps can be changed at all. Even if so, it would be far more work than likely worthwhile, but I'd love to see more Fort Vaux/Przemysl style forts would look awesome, even if they worked the same
