"Contingent UN" or normally "United Nations" Is a faction and international organization created to maintain and strengthen international peace and security, as well as develop cooperation between states. The "UN" is considered a universal forum endowed with a unique legitimacy, the supporting structure of the international system of collective security, the main element of modern multilateral diplomacy. Strategic Command as well as many other military structures, sees the "New Zone" like the perfect place for they expeditions and professional researchers. That is why it was decided to send an expeditionary force to "Chernobyl Exclusion Zone" , numbering 120 persons to assist and to secure the local and their own researchers. "United Nations" troops kitted most technologically advanced equipment in their arsenal and the latest scientific inventions and military developments. They main base of operations for them, are locations like "Generators" and "Chernobyl-2 Anthenna". Local stalkers didn't need to know them very well. For them they are group of soldiers with some kind of mission, by they'r own. Contingent used the help from the local "Mercenaries" sometimes, but in very rare cases.
